AFTERMATH

Eerling sat at a point on a volcano,digesting all that happened in the last few hours. He was new in the world and was evil. It was his origin but he felt too innocent for that. He had seen how humans lived. He had seen children being innocent but his' was different.

He remembered how the minion had sacrificed himself for him and thought.

"Was that evil?"

He shook his head in disagreement. "That was good" he thought. His mind began to conflict and he couldn't reach a decision.

"Why does father even hate Dwayne?" He asked himself. There was obviously no answer to that question.

"Why does he want him dead?" He asked again. He was now looking for answers.

Dwayne was a good guy,now he was the bad guy all thanks to him. His father wanted Dwayne dead but now that he was evil,would his hate still reign?

He tried to put together the pieces of the puzzle but could not get the picture. After hours of deep thinking,he left for the dark realm,hoping to meet his father. What he saw confirmed one thing...his father was a monster.

He didn't announce his arrival and his weakness had also affected his aura,making him invincible.

In the dark realm were Draco and Doom who were chuckling.

"How dramatic are you Draco?" Doom asked,laughing loudly.

"As dramatic as Lucifer when he got kicked out of heaven" Draco replied,increasing the laughter.

"Now that Eerling has gone. Do you think he's going to survive?" Doom asked and Draco kept shut.

"I'm sure Dwayne would kill him but he is a tough kid. He'll give Dwayne a hard time. Still,he dies" he said.

"Well that would be one more obstacle out of the way. He has a lot of good and that is something I hate. Everything must be dark" Doom said.

"He hasn't returned,I'm sure Dwayne has done it. All I'm waiting for is the right moment. Then I'll strike" Draco said the burst into loud laughter.

Eerling had heard enough. He now knew he was being used. He flew out of there,making a pact to never return until he had saved Dwayne from his current predicament and was ready to kill Draco.

"Where do I go now?" He asked. Then,an idea struck and he knew the best place to go.

"Their Safe house." He mumbled.

Yu Yuan was in her office,reading a Forbes magazine. She had this serious look that depicted her interest in the book. Even with her concentration,she dropped the book,reflecting on her life so far.

First,she was a young delinquent always causing trouble then when she got into the university,a rebel and made terrible choices.

Thankfully,she changed before it was too late but it had affected her. Despite having first-class degrees in her years of study,her past behaviour made no organization employ her,so she had to settle as a waitress in a hotel.

Now,Dwayne came into her life and things got better for her. She found a life partner and also became the manager of the same hotel she worked and where they met.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a phone call. She picked her phone.

"Hello,who's this?" She asked. The number was a private one.

"Hello Yu Yuan. It's me,Stan" the caller replied.

"Oh Stan,what's the problem. You sound alarmed?" She asked.

"You know Dwayne called up a few hours ago that he has returned? Well,he's in trouble." He said.

"What trouble?" She asked,now getting alarmed.

"He got into a brawl with Eerling." He replied. Her phone slipped from her hand and fell as she heard that.

"Hello? Yu Yuan,are you okay?" Stan called from the phone. She hurriedly picked her phone and answered.

"Yeah,I'm fine. I'm coming over now" she replied and put her suit coat on,then hung up.

She locked her office door and left the hotel,instructing the receptionist to tell any guest that came to see her that she wasn't going to be around.

She got into her car,driving as fast as she could.

"Dwayne,Dwayne" she called,shedding tears.

After half an hour of driving,she arrived at the safe house where the guys were.

She parked her car and rushed in. Inside were Stan,Lee,Yao and Dr Sue who all had a disturbed look on their faces.

"What the hell happened?" She yelled.

"Relax Yu Yuan,relax. We'll tell you everything." Dr Sue calmed her down and ushered her a seat.

"There's been a lot of shitty things happening recently but this is the shittiest thing that has happened so far." Yao muttered. That only raised the anxiety in Yu Yuan and earned him a scoff and frown from Sue.

"So,tell me what happened" Yu Yuan demanded.

"Okay. Today,there was an emergency call from a citizen who reported an explosion and a fight between a man and a beast. We went to check on that,being part of the special taskforce handling such cases but all that was left was a dead minion.

We checked the CCTV footage but it was already damaged. Luckily,there was always a back up storage and we checked it. All we saw was Dwayne and a man brawling,then the transformation of the man into Eerling. He was already dominating Dwayne when a faint,red glow emitted from Dwayne. After that,we saw nothing else.

That was probably what destroyed the CCTV camera. Then we asked the citizen if he saw what happened. All he said was that he passed out after the glow and that he was recording what was happening but his phone was already damaged after that." Stan explained.

Yu Yuan gasped and realized what happened. "That same red glow" she thought and remembered what happened earlier that morning.

She felt something terrible had happened and that it was her fault for not telling him to take it off.

"Is there something you aren't telling us,cos you look like you know something about this?" Lee asked.

"Yeah. Today,I saw the same glow on Dwayne. It was only radiating on his skin. I asked him what it was and he told me it was a ring his father had left for him. The ring gave him access to Demon's abilities and it was safer,compared to the normal Demon transformation." She replied.

"What the hell!???" Everyone shouted.

"And you agreed to him wearing it?" Stan questioned.

"I know its my fault. What do we do now?" She asked,feeling sober.

"I dunno. But I'm sure Dwayne ain't rogue" Yao said.

"Yeah,I think that glow levelled him up and now,Eerling's dead. All we have to do is wait. He might be somewhere meditating,regretting killing someone" Stan said.

"Well Dwayne's got a good heart so I think he's okay" Yu Yuan said and everyone else agreed.

"No,you're wrong. Dwayne isn't okay,he has gone rogue." A teenage boy said,emerging from the darkness.

"Who are you?" Lee barked,defense readied.

"I know you'll all hate me. I'm Eerling,Doom's son." The boy said.

"You son of a dog" Yao cursed and made to run towards him.

"Stop. He isn't here for a fight" Dr Sue stopped him.

"How did you.."

"I read his mind. He's here to talk. So,talk" she replied.

"Okay. I can't believe this but I think it's best we work together cos Dwayne has hone rogue." He stated.

"So Elsa,what brings you to Oklahoma?" AJ asked. They were inside the room,all recuperating from the quick battle they had just went through.

"I saw Draco,an enemy of Dwayne and came to warn him." Elsa replied.

"Oh,really? So what's up with Lanre,it's been two years since I last saw him?" She asked.

"I don't know. It's been a year I saw him." She replied.

"Are you being honest?" AJ inquired,peering deeply into her eyes.

"Umm...Okay,I'll tell you what happened." She said.

"Good,so go on." AJ said.

"Well after that tragic incident,Lanre kept to himself. He broke ties with all of us by erasing his memories off our minds. I was the only one he left with the memories should in case he died,I would tell our friends about him. He left,living a normal life in Nigeria again. I didn't know what happened but he reappeared last year,weak and sick. He pulled together and was fine. His girlfriend broke up with him and he now lives a normal life devoid of any Supernatural occurrences." She explained.

They all had a similar expression of pity for Lanre who they had adored. The only reason the Oklahomans had knew him was because he wanted to rescue his girlfriend. Now,she had broken up with him after facing all the trouble.

"Why did she break up with him?" Sharon asked.

"She got admission into a university and decided to part ways with him,seeing the age difference would cause issues and also,she wanted no troubles anymore. She didn't want to wake up everyday with the possibility of her or Lanre dying." She continued.

"Oh" Sallah said. He felt hit with that,that was the same s**t he was facing with his girlfriend at the moment.

"Do you still talk to him?" Drex inquired.

"Yeah,we still spoke last month" she said then shut up.

"Well,that's great. I think it's best you help us contact Lanre. He has the power to help us out of this situation." Drake said.

"No. I made a promise to not disturb him and I'm going to keep that. Besides,we need to act on our own. Our reliance on Lanre then,made us fall." Elsa protested.

"Whoa,okay. We won't call him but what do we do now to save Mr and Mrs Dyche?" Sallah asked.

"I think I know a way." Drake said,smiling.

"What?"

"My father."

Alfred and Christine were awoken by a sudden jolt of shock in their bodies. They at first felt wobbly and weak but then,they began to remember what had happened when they were last awake.

"Where are we?" Christine found herself asking as she scanned the environment.

They realized they were both on beds in a fancy room,tied down with a silver chains on their wrists.

"I don't know,but I'm sure it's not some b**m" Alfred joked. He tried to break the chain but it didn't. Then,he realized he was tied with silver. He was lucky he wasn't in pain.

Then,they heard footsteps coming. They were slow but loud and that made them anxious.

The door opened and there was Queen Evelyn,donned in her golden,royal attire.

"Your Majesty. Long live the Queen." They hailed.

"Hold it. We need to talk" she said and snapped her fingers. The chains disappeared from their wrists.

They both got up,standing with attention.

"About?"

"Doom. He's got Abel but first,explain all that has happened to me." Evelyn replied.

"So,that was how we were here." Christine concluded.

"Doom. He's such a sneaky bastard. Now,he's got Abel." Evelyn said angrily.

"But your highness,did you tell Abel everything about the Doom issue?" Alfred asked.

"Yes but I didn't tell him all. If I told him,he'd find it hard to believe I did it for a right cause." She said.

"Yes I understand. He was mad at us when he realized there was Doom who wanted his life." Christine agreed.

"And Doom has broken the barrier now. He would be launching an attack anytime from now."

"So what do we do now?" Alfred asked.

"We interrogate the reason Abel landed in Doom's hands...Odius." Evelyn replied.

"Okay your highness. But before we go,I think Doom already knew the pathway to Astera and only needed someone to break the barrier for him. And for that to be possible,he has an insider who helped him pit Abel against Odius." Christine suggested.

"True. It's impossible for him to do all of this on his own. But I wouldn't take chances,I'm still going to interrogate Odius." She replied.

"I know my Queen but can you let me try something to at least,confirm that there is an insider here." Christine suggested.

"Okay fine,but be quick." Evelyn waved her off and made to leave.

"One more thing." She said and turned to meet their calm gazes.

"You tried for me,Abel and the kingdom. And I really appreciate that. Thank you so much." She appreciated with tear filled eyes.

She left the room to the couple who were just baffled. The Queen had just thanked them for their services.

"You're welcome." They replied faintly and settled on the bed,prepared to fight for their kingdom,Astera.
