By the time they had returned to the station at Gravesend, Guthrie had tasked Alisdair with obtaining the complete vendors list from Ogilvy Outerwear. They had agreed upon a time to meet the next morning when they would make sure the personnel in the incident room were going through the list and contacting the people with whom Gant had dealings.
Guthrie had driven home listening to classical music. He parked the car feeling relaxed. Once inside his flat he pulled out a frozen meal and microwaved it for the required four minutes, before sitting down in his armchair and eating the low calorie mix of vegetables, rice and chicken without bothering to transfer it from the plastic container. No need to dirty a real plate.
