Twenty-One Saturday, 29th March, 2014 The rear door was in shadow. It was all he needed to see if he could force the lock and gain entry to the warehouse. If he could break in, he would be warm tonight. It took almost forty-five minutes, but that was okay. It passed the time. Once inside he found just what he hoped for — an empty space. Even though he was used to the dark outside, it still took several minutes for his eyes to adjust to the almost total blackness in the windowless space. He had lost count of the times he had been asked to move on from this place or that. Doorways, alleys, even half-finished houses on building sites.
