CHAPTER 14

***YOU PASSED OUT*** I woke up in the morning with a splitting head ache and hangover as f** like I had been hit by a truck. There was no sign of Malik in the room. What the hell happened yesterday? Images of what happened yesterday started popping up in my head. "You crazy b*tch! " I scolded myself for being so shameless. I couldn't believe I'd begged Malik to sleep with me, like seriously what the f*** had gotten in to me. I got out of bed and went to take a very much needed shower. Amid washing up i started pondering on something. It was strange that I had gotten drunk from just drinking two glasses of wine. I was a heavy drinker and my alcohol tolerance was quite high so I couldn't understand how I got drunk and did all those things when I was such a person. It felt like I was missing something and I was surely going to find out what happened yesterday. After washing up I got dressed in sweat pants and a t-shirt, it didn't matter what people would think. It was going to be one of those lazy days for me anyway. I went down to have breakfast and when I got there, everyone was seated having breakfast. I checked the clock before I greeted everyone and grabbed a sit the time was almost 9:00 am. Surprisingly people were avoiding eye contact with me except the servants who seemed to be whispering at each other about something. I glanced at Malik who was sitting at the head of the table. He had a bruise on his on his forehead, weird. I thought of what really happened yesterday, I strangely recalled everything except for how I end up in bed. The last thing I remembered was Malik walking towards me and grabbing me by my waist, after that everything was a little blurred then nothing. I glanced at Malik one more time and blutterd out. "Did you knock me out. " Matthew almost choked on his food from laughing, that little punk. To be honest I didn't even know why I was asking him that preposterous question, he was clearly the one with a bruise. Malik's face was nonchalant not giving of even the slightest emotion. 'what's up with him'? ' He put his cup of coffee down and said, "No, I did not. " I started eating my breakfast seeing he was being weird, actually everyone was acting suspicious. It was so unlike granny to just be quiet like that, something smelled fishy. Granny, Malik and Matthew left the table after having their breakfast, leaving me behind with mother whom I wasn't sure why she was still there or maybe she didn't want to live me on my own. "Meera, what happened yesterday? What do you remember? " I looked at her for a while, why was she even asking. "Not much. " I lied of course."I think I had too much to drink." I wasn't about to tell her that I was busy begging her sun for s*x. Huh! Never! "please do forgive your grandmother dear. She means well. " I stared at her for a while feeling a little confused, what was she even talking about. Then it hit me, it was after I had granny's wine that I started acting funny. "I know everything that happened." I got flushed instantly. She knew everything. "All that happened? " I asked, I had to be sure of exactly what she knew. "Yes, Malik told me. " I face warmed up, I was so embarrassed It was so annoying how I was always on that spot. "Don't feel bad dear, it was mother's fault. It is true that you two have to consummate your marriage soon. It is important that you do and we are all worried that you to might miss the auspicious time but it was wrong of her to add boosters on your drink. She shouldn't have." 'So granny is sly like that huh?' I had a feeling that granny might have orchestrated this, I could not believe just how far she was willing to go. "Wait she didn't drug me?" I asked.i honestly thought she spiked my drink. "No, I don't think she did." I glanced at mother for a while then heaved a sigh. So I really got drunk from just having two glasses of wine. How disappointing. " And Meera, please don't be mad because Malik told me what happened. You suddenly lost consciousness when you two were......" She paused. I knew exactly what she meant. I fiddled with my fingers, I was a blushing mess. So it turned out that Malik told her everything, everything. Hearing that from mother made me kind of uncomfortable. "Anyway, he had to tell me because he thought that something bad had happened and that's when mother confessed that she added a s****l booster she got from sabah on your drink. And it appears to be the reason why you fainted." Oh my goodness, she gave me boosters that Sabah made not from the pharmacy. I was dumbstruck by what she said, so I past out because my body was overwhelmed by the feeling of being sexually aroused. Hah! Now that's funny. Well played granny. "I fainted." I chuckled at that thought "you sure did." mother giggled as well, it was quite funny considering the situation I'd put Malik in. "But I'm okay now, right?" mother quiet down a bit then hesitantly said, "Yes, but... Sabah mentioned there was no guarantee that your s****l desires would not be stimulated. The aftermath might be the same as the effect. " I laughed out at that. What if that happened and Malik was not around, then what? I gulped down a mouthful of my juice. Mother must have thought of what I was thinking because she suggested that I stayed indoors for the time being until I was better. Great! I got confinement and my husband was free to do whatever he wanted. Oh, right. He was the King after all. Nx! Whatever?! I was hangover anyway, a whole day of sleep wouldn't hurt. Going back to my room I decided to call Zoe and update her on how things were going especially About Naomi and her little stunts. Her response was, "With a family like yours, who needs enemies? " not that all my family members were against me but I kind of understood what she meant. Grandmother didn't like me at all, she was just on my side because of my social status and uncle Colin's daughter thought I stole her man or maybe I did. But then again, he was mine before I even knew he existed so I was most likely an enemy to him as well. Aunt Liza was the only one at my side that loved me unconditionally, the rest were just putting on a facade. We continued chatting some more and as for Omar, she advised that I told Malik about him as soon as possible, that I didn't have to deal with it on my own since I didn't create a fuss about him and Naomi which I thought was a good idea actually. I dozzed off immediately after we hung up. For me sleeping had never been a problem but sleeping during the day was a different matter, I couldn't keep it up for more than an hour unless I was dog tired. But that day I was in and out for like 5 hours, still not sure why but I guessed it must have been granny's damn booster. Finally I was wide awake in the afternoon. I got out of bed only to see Malik seated with his legs croosed reading a book. He looked charming or maybe it was just me. I thought he looked dreamy and very attractive. Lately all I seem to think about Malik was how attractive he was. It was insane how I thought he looked hot in anything, the man could wear a paper bag and still look great. I quickly ran to the bathroom to freshen up then came back and sat on the couch next to his. "Hi" I had been sleeping the whole day, I didn't even know what would be the prosper way to Greet him. He moved his gaze from the book to me. "You slept well?" he asked with a smile on his face. "Yeah. " I said as he put down his book. "So... You really wanted to manhandled Naomi, huh?" he said with a curious face. I blushed a bit, this guy really. Of all things he could ask me, why that one. It made me sound like I was jealous. "Yes, a little. " he let out a lough I had never heard before, it was hilarious, I didn't think a king was allowed to laugh like that. A part of me did want to beat the sh*t out of her though. "But why? " He asked with an amused look. "She wanted to crash my party." I made an annoyed face. "But she didn't. " He replied. By the way he kept his eyes fixed on me, I could tell he suspected there was more to it . "Yeah, that's because we left before she could. "I said, gosh talking about her got on my nerves. "I was dating him before I found out about us... You know. " Honesty is the first step to building a good relationship. I had already made up my mind to be with the man. There was no going back now anyway. "Yes." He replied waiting for me to go on."He ghosted me for almost a week before we got married so I haven't had the chance to tell him and Naomi showing up with him yesterday wasn't a mere coincidence, she knew about him. They were going to confront me in front of all those people." I continued and stated exactly what I thought was going to happen yesterday. "I've known it for a while now. It wasn't that hard to find out." He said with one side of his mouth curved up. "You knew? " I asked. "for quite some time, I just wanted to hear it from you. It's okay Meera, I understand we both had lives before this, right? " he said honestly. "Yeah." I felt that the little weight I had been carrying around had been lifted. It didn't matter if those two tried to pull a fast one on me, what mattered was that Malik knew and he understood. I might have betrayed Omar but he was my boyfriend only when it suited him and for that, I felt less guilty.
