Kyle's POV
After almost one week, I was already feeling my resolve crumbling bit by bit. I had promised to wait for even years but here I was feeling down after just a few days. I guessed I had underestimated how much I valued Selena's presence around me.
I had grown numb to a lot of things I once found entertaining in the woods before.
Just like the last time, I perked up even at the slightest sound of rustling leaves, but after a few times, I decided not to pay attention to it anymore.
As usual, when I heard the sound, I was not expecting anything. I didn't even turn back hoping for whatever it was to pass. But then, the sound stopped close to the house.
