True to his word, Rayne leaves. Not long afterwards, my kids came running in, jumping on the bed. Nathan and Dawson are great with them. They are playing with them when Max asks me if they really have two daddies?
All eyes are on me. “I guess you do, sweetie.”
“How?” he asks
“I will let them tell you about that when you’re older.” I looked at both Nathan and Dawson. “What I have had to do all the explaining for all these years. It’s about time you took on some parental responsibilities.” They both looked so happy. Bet they won’t look like that when the day actually comes.
Gale tries to slip into the room quietly, but he is unsuccessful. Especially when he slips on a toy and goes crashing to the ground. That’s my brother, a great fighter but a hopeless spy.
