Rose I am really enjoying chatting with all the ladies. I know I need to tell everyone about some of the things I can remember and then about Sapphire. But I don't want to end the conversation and the fun that I am having just yet. I look over and Hudson is sitting with the guys on the couch and chatting with them. He looks over at me once in a while and smiles. I can tell he is happy that I am enjoying myself right now. And I am very happy. This is the most welcome I have felt anywhere. I did not realize how much I missed this. Hopefully, meeting the pack will go just as well as this is. After a while, one of the ladies finally asks me about what happened to me and how I ended up in rogue territory. I sigh, I knew I would have to talk about all of it. I look around the room and notice everyone else is also looking over at me now. “Alright everyone, get comfortable, and I will tell you what I remember from when i was younger and what happened to me to have me run into rogue territory.” I go sit in one of the comfortable armchairs and wait for everyone else to sit somewhere and get comfortable as well. Once everyone was seated, then I took a deep breath and started telling them my story… “I was found by a warrior, as far as I know, on the border of the pack that I ran from. I do not remember the pack name or the name of the Alpha there. But I remember that I was taken in by the Alpha family. I was raised by them, if you can call it that, until they realized I did not have a scent. I was scentless and to them that made me worthless. I was not worthy of being a pack member, so I was never made one. I was made into a slave at the age of five. I was made to cook and clean for the family and if I made a mistake I would be beaten and starved. On my sixth birthday I woke up in excruciating pain. I did not know why. I was never told about shifting or what happens when you shift. They thought since I was scentless I had no wolf, so why would they waste time telling me what to expect? But I was shifting. I did not know what was happening, but I had a feeling I needed to get outside and away from where anyone could see me. So I ran. I ran and hid in the forest in a spot where no one really came. It was my safe area that I would hide in when I was in trouble, so I knew no one would come looking there anyway. And I shifted. At six. Into the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen. She is swirled in purple and blue and has silver eyes. She is the size of an Alpha wolf. Her name is Sapphire. She became my best and only friend there. She told me not to tell anyone about her because I would not be safe if I did. I agreed with her and I told no one about her. After I shifted for the first time, I started sneaking out at night to shift so that Sapphire could run and hunt and be able to do things. I started studying about wolves that shift early and the different colors. I had to sneak around to do that though. I found out that early shifters are rare and that wolves of different colors are very rare as well and normally have special abilities. We had not noticed if we had a special ability though, so I didn’t know if that was true or not. From what I remember of the other pack members, everyone had a pretty normal wolf. Just browns and grays. I think the Alpha family had black in their wolf colors as well. But, on to what happened… After I was able to shift and started learning more about wolves and their abilities, I started paying more attention to how the Alpha treated the other pack members. I was not the only pack member they thought was wolfless, they treated all the ‘wolfless’ and scentless members almost exactly the same. Or so I thought. Once a member that was scentless turned eighteen. I was there when they did not shift… The Alpha had them taken away to the center of town and killed. In front of the pack… I was ten. At that point, they had me staying in the Alpha household, and I was not supposed to be outside at all. I snuck out, though, because I enjoyed the outdoors. And then I saw that. After I saw what they had done, I ran. I hid close to one of the lakes by the border. I remember other children laughing and playing there. The wind was blowing softly and it was a calm day. As I continued to think about what I had just seen, I started getting scared and angry. Scared they would do that to me when I turned eighteen and angry that they could even do that to a member of their pack. Then I heard them yelling for me. The anger and fright made me run. I shifted and ran. As I started running, the sky turned black and there was a massive thunderstorm. Pouring rain and lightning all around. I escaped. And later I learned that I had caused that storm. Sapphire's ability was control over the weather and the elements. It made escaping easier and living on our own. We were able to warm our food, and I was able to build myself that treehouse. And that is where I stayed. Until Hudson found me. That is everything I can remember though.” As I finished talking, I looked around. Everyone is staring at me in shock and horror at what I just told them. Hudson is looking thoughtful though. “Mom, I remember you mentioning a thunderstorm when I was fourteen that came out of nowhere near the Ravens Hollow pack. Maybe that is the pack she ran from?” His mom looks surprised for a moment, then her and his dad get concerned and angry looks on their faces. “We have an alliance with them. But I had a suspicion that they mistreated their pack members. We will need to investigate this somehow.” Hudson nods, “If they are the pack you came from, then we have a score to settle with them and I will be making sure that we save as many of the scentless and wolfless members as we can from there. I promise.” I nod and smiled at them all. This pack is definitely different, and I like it. I think I will be perfectly happy here.
