Chapter 12

Blair and Nyla POV continued... True to form, Grom had went and alerted my brother of Sienna’s Alpha status. An armed escort now awaits us at the doors of the healer’s ward. As Sienna leans over to slip on her boots, I can’t help being mesmerized by the way her waist-length hair shimmers in the sunlight that shines through the windows. Strength and power radiates from my Rogue mate who sits before me. I don’t think I have ever felt so much power in someone before. “Our mate is special. I think, soon, we will know just how much so,” Nyla says. “I hope so, Nyla.” Enna looks up at me, “You are the leader of the Guard. Yes?” I nod and she continues. “You have advised them not to lay a hand on me? That I claim a parle status with your Alpha.” “Yes,” I answer, not that I think any of them would have been dumb enough to try, “My brother knows of your claim as well.” She sighs before bearing down on the chair to push herself up. With earlier convincing, I managed to get her to allow me to assist her as she is unable to walk without assistance, currently. She gives me an almost pained expression at our skin to skin contact and my heart lurches in sadness. She looks away from me quickly, “I have only ever known Rana. I have lived my life, primarily, in solidarity. Kindness and… Assistance from outsiders is new to me.” My mind reels, “You have lived as a Ker? How have you survived for so long on your own?” She opens the door and is greeted by the steely face of Bronin, my head of the Guard, “You are to be escorted to the throne room for parle with Alpha Emmerson of FireFall Crescent Pack.” With him are four mated, and two unmated men. I can smell the arousal from the two and give them a low growl, “Leave. Now.” The share a pained look at my order. “General,” Bronin starts, “Your brother…” “Do I typically give a damn about what he has to say? They will depart or they will be reassigned!” Even Bronin shifts uncomfortably at my command but reiterates that the two unmated wolves depart. No one mind links me and we walk in silence all the way to my brother’s throne room. The doors are opened as our arrival is announced and my brother bids us entry. He stands as we enter. His presence and size is enough to cause other to show immediate respect and be intimidated, but not Sienna. If anything, I can tell that she is already intimidating him. He can also feel her power. “Blair, to me. All others to their council seats.” Within moments of his Alpha command, the room is cleared, and I am reluctant to leave her side. I look to her, silently asking if she will be able to stand alone. Her nod, as slight as it was, would have been missed by all others. I nod back and walk to my brother’s right-hand side. He approaches Sienna, but does not close the distance, “I am Alpha Emmerson O’Connor of FireFall Crescent Pack, first son to Henry and Emilia O’Connor and minor king of the Eastern territories. Who am I agreeing to parle with?” Sienna squares her shoulders, glancing at me, before holding eye contact with my brother. Minor chatter ensues her defiant look. “I am Sienna Amara Fell, first born daughter of Marx and Megara Fell, sole surviving Winter Wolf, Alpha and crown Queen of Fell, Queen of Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western werewolf territories.” A deadly hush befalls the room. Even if all the windows shattered at this moment, no one would move… This means, that there is an heir. She’s been out there all this time. No survivors could be found. We searched for days as we buried the dead. Some of the bodies were so charred that we couldn’t put names to a good number of the royal family and pack… Thoughts race through my mind as I gulp at the realization that my mate is the queen of all werewolves. My brother steps closer, “Do you bare proof?” She glares at him before raising her arms. Wind whips around through the room and snow begins to flurry, seemingly from nowhere. As those encircling the room bend the knee, I race to her as she pales and her legs buckle. I catch her before she hits the floor. I snarl at my brother who dares to look up from the floor. I stand us up so she can look about the room, “I wish not for the room to bend the knee to me. You will all rise,” She commands and waits as everyone slowly looks to her and rises to their feet. “My Queen…” My brother starts, “Please forgive my insolence… It has been over a decade since we last met, there’s no way I’d have recognized you or your scent.” Sienna nods slightly, “I do not take offence at your actions. If I was you? I’d have killed a Rogue Alpha on site… Now,” She scans the room, “I know that all, including the elders, have questions to ask me. I suggest we move this to a secured room where I may be able to rest a bit more.” “Of course!” My brother sends out a mind-link, but I ignore him as I keep my focus on Sienna and the fact that she sways in my arms. “You should rest before you attempt to link the entire council.” She sighs and nods, “Yes… I suppose it will be a good thing that Rana will be doing that for me. I have shared with her my knowledge from the time before she found me. She has seen as I have seen.” I secure my arm around her waist, “Alright… Let’s at least get you into a chair then, maybe you could eat as well. That’ll help.”
