We settled down on the living room couch. Zoey had been bouncing off the walls and I could tell Leo was regretting his decision to let her eat all the junk food she purchased from the vending machine.
She had picked out a classic princess movie and Leo was able to get her to settle down by making a promise of cooking her the largest pancake for breakfast. It wasn’t long before Olivia had fallen asleep in my arms.
I too was starting to feel my eyelids grow heavy with sleep.
“Go upstairs. I’ve got this,” Leo said, giving my thigh a squeeze.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course. You’ve had a long day”
“Thank you,” I gave him a kiss, “I’ll see you in the morning,” I bent down to kiss Zoey on top of the head.
“Goodnight”
I got up to our bedroom when I realized we didn’t have a bassinet or crib
