Chapter 2

922 Words
David's POV "You can't be made CEO without a wife by your side. This has been our family rule." My Dad yelled. "Dad, there must be a way out. I'm not interested in women for now" "Our family name is more important than anything. You need a bride to be eligible for such a prestigious position. We have to know that you won't have children with different women." "But Dad, I'm not even interested in any woman at all." "My words are final!! You can't ruin our family legacy by having illegitimate children." I Know this has been one of my family's rules for years. It never really bothered me as a child cause I was never going to be CEO being that I was the third son. But after my two older brothers went to college, they found other Passions and decided to pursue them. My eldest brother went into medicine and has become a world renowned surgeon while my immediate elder brother pursued his passion for cooking and now owns a five star restaurant. I was the next in line and I had so much passion for my family's business. I didn't break a second to think about the family's rules. Maybe if Julie didn't dump me for the old man she married we wouldn't be here. She ghosted me and acted like I never existed. It has really been hard for me to get to love any lady after the only lady I ever loved broke my heart. I randomly thought about the s*x, Julie was so irresistible and she knew how to get my d**k erected by saying the silliest things. I remembered the dates and the fun times we had together and just like that I'd let go of that? Impossible. "Damn you Julie!!!" I said as I snapped out of my hurtful thoughts. I picked up my phone and I called my friend Michael. So he can assist me in my quest. Michael presented pictures of some women from reputable families but none of them seem to catch my attention one bit. I knew I wasn't marrying for love, but the person should be pleasant to me at least. The search for an eligible bride made no sense to me. But I had to do it because it is my responsibility. I knew a part of me still wanted Julie and it was hard to accept she had really gone. Julie and I grew up together and went to college together. While I was in business school, Julie was in school of economics. We had already planned our lives together but she left me anyway. I haven't really grown over the pain, but I still missed her. "Common man, we need to go to a club. You'd see a ton of fine-ass girls." Michael insisted. "Club girls? Please." "Anyway you need to cool off and probably get your d**k sucked. When last did you get that" he teased me, laughing so hard. I shook my head and got into my Lamborghini Urus and Michael drove us to the club. It was quite noisy and I wasn't really a club person. The girls and the loud music irritated me badly. I excused myself from Michael who was making out with two girls. One was throat-deep on his d**k and the other was sucking his lips intensely. As I was walking to the restroom, I noticed one of the bartenders staring at me. "I don't do bar girls." I muttered She walked in front of me. "Hello handsome" she placed her hand on my chest, flapping her eyelashes at me. "Excuse me" I said. Trying to walk passed her. "I like you. You're really handsome" she teased me. I gave her a light push and headed to the restroom. "How do people enjoy such loud music?" I asked with a scowl. When I stepped out of the rest room, I noticed the lady was standing at the entrance of the clubhouse. Immediately she saw me, she rushed towards me and slid a piece of paper into my pocket. She made a hand gesture indicating I should call her. I opened the piece of paper and it read - "I'm Ama, call me" with her phone number written beneath. I threw the paper away and I went to drag out Michael so we could head home. "We just came," he murmured. "Yes and we have to leave." I added. "We both have to go to work tomorrow" I arrived at the office at 8:30 am. I got tons of emails from work the night before, so I knew it was going to be a very hectic day. I signed lots of documents from the hotel, the restaurant, airline and the tech hub. Most of which I didn't really read because Michael had already read them. My job was just to sign them. When I finished, I pulled my seat backward to relax and get some rest. While I was resting, My secretary walked in. "Sir, you have an interview scheduled in 2 days" "What's the interview about?" "It's for the employees who need loan" "Oh?" I sighed. "How many are they?" "About 10 sir. But by tomorrow I will get the exact number. "Ok then. You can leave now" Later that evening, Michael and I went out with daughters of prominent business men but none of them really caught my attention. Michael seemed to be interested in every single lady there. "How typical of him" I rolled my eyes.
