We moved through the morning in a haze after a solid night's sleep. Half a shower went unregistered by Nora and I ate a roll and tea for breakfast. “Peace,” she screamed in the bathroom where water had been streaming into the sink. “Yeah?” “Do you want today to be extraordinary?” I thought so while refilling our mugs with boiled water. "Possible. I mean, two weeks is a reasonable absence not to have been at work. People are definitely going to gossip." She sighed with a heavy heart. "Only hope that Nathaniel won't be strange. He has done quite enough." I had a fear like that myself, so I kept things in perspective. "Whatever is going to be is going to be. Let's just go and do what we do."
