The cell that they put us in was so cold and dark, the walls looked like a b*****e and, while thinking about an escape route, my stomach made sounds of hunger. I looked at the face of my friend. “So what’s going to happen now? "What’s our fate precisely?” Nora asked me. I swallowed hard, my throat was dry. “We wait," I said, but I knew not what we wait for. The condition grew worse by the minute. The cell was filled to bursting with the reek of perspiration and despair, and hunger clawed in my stomach. Nora groaned in my grasp, her face to the cold wall. "Rest, I can endure no longer," she whispered softly. I squeezed her hand. "We'll have to stick together, Nora.
