BRIA
As soon as I entered the living room all eight- maybe nine (I was nervous ok?!) heads snapped towards me except one. I slowed down a bit and tried to portray my best confident look. When my eyes finally landed on what was in front of me, they went wide with fear and I regretted stepping a foot outside of my room. My breath caught in my throat and suddenly I felt thirsty than ever.
There was a man on his knees, his hands were tied with rope behind his back, neck hanging down and whole body was covered in wounds and.... blood. He was covered in blood from head to toe. His clothes were tattered at places giving the glimpses of his deep wounds. I nervously took a step towards him and saw his face covered in bruises and cuts gushing out with blood. His eyes were half-closed and he was mumbling something along the lines of 'you will pay the prize'.
My eyes gathered with tears of fear and anger. The hairs on my body stood straight in freight thinking about what this poor guy might have done to these monsters. I looked at Gabriel for an explanation but all he offered me was his blank face.
"get out" Cameron spat in anger at me.
I was taken aback by the harshness in his voice. I even considered of spitting a curse word at him and run back to my room but then the painful whimper from the injured man made me decide another way. "What the hell is going on here?" I couldn't control my anger and panicked when the memory of Cody's lifeless body flashed in my mind.
Cameron got more furious than before at my denial to do what I was told to. For the second time, I was scared beyond the limits by this man.
He came and grabbed my elbow trying to drag me away from there "shut up and get the hell out of here."
I looked at the King of bastards who was seated there in a large chair like it was some kind of throne. The large black leather chair was perfectly complementing the status of her owner. It was simple in design but one could not take their eyes off of it easily. Just like her owner who could be easily mistaken as a greek god in his beauty and one could never get enough of his sight, if only they are brave enough to look up at him that is. He sat there casually like he was not watching a bloodied man but boring weather report. He was in an expensive suit with shiny black shoes and shining large wristwatch, his famous dark shades resting on his long straight nose in the house at night time. Seriously?
"I am not going anywhere until I get the answer to my question" I screamed at Cameron's face striking the last chord of his patience.
Cameron pushed me hard when I didn't comply with him and I landed not-so-graciously on a nearby chair with a loud sound. All the pent-up anger burst through me and I felt braver, credits to the pumping adrenaline in my system. I straightened up and whirled around, stomping straight towards the Devil.
I pointed my finger accusingly at him gathering all my hatred towards him as if it would beam out of my finger and burn him down into the ashes. Poison dripping from my words "who do you think you are, huh? Just because few brainless creatures call you King, you think that you are above of all? If it is so then you are hugely mistaken mister because there is one thing above everyone including you and that is justice. You may have many people in law and order at your feet but still, there are some people in the system who are not corrupt and will punish you for all your wrong deeds. And you know what, I will be the witness against you and your army of cowards. Do you-"
I was cut short by his calm tone "cowards?" A single word from his mouth was more than enough to tremble my confident demeanour.
An unfamiliar feeling rushed in my insides when his deep voice hit my ears making me gulp visibly. "Yes! Cowards! You all are f*****g cowards. You hide behind the guns and weapons. You don't have the heart to come forward and take responsibility for your actions hence you use money and power to keep you safe. You all are cowards because you didn't have the strength to fight a girl like me. You are cowards because you all are ganging up against one helpless person. And you all are cowards because you don't know what it takes for a normal person to face the hardships in life and build a secured future for their family as all you do is snatch everything from them with force." At the end of my explosion, I was shouting at the top of my lungs with my eyes red and moist.
My outburst was followed by a minute of silence and I took that opportunity to calm my nerves a bit closing my eyes for a moment. I was spun around by him painfully grabbing my hairs. I whimpered in pain and shut my eyes close again in an attempt to lessen the pain.
I heard the injured man crying in pain that made me bite my lip in fear.
"Open your eyes." He growled dangerously in my left ear making my knees go weak as his other hand grabbed my face to lift it to his level.
I was shaking in terror and crying hard. I couldn't open my eyes in fear of what they would get to see if I open them.
"I said open your eyes" he roared in anger making my eyes flew open wide. I instantly regretted my action as I saw the bruised face of a man which was worse than what I saw before. They must have hit him again.
More tears welled up in my eyes clouding my vision which I tried to blink away but to no avail. I don't know how but my brain processed without my knowledge and suddenly I recognised the bloodied man in front of me. My breath hitched when the face got a name.
