“It's not true,” Manila let out in whispers to Aria, who was still crying. “Killian isn't dead. I promise he's alive and happy.”
Aria clung tighter to her mother, crying into her chest.
Manila was saying the truth, apart from the happy part, of course. Killian wasn’t dead. If he were, we would all know, and it would be spoken about even more than the news of his supposed disloyalty and perfidy.
