I gulped in the water and tried to breathe, but it was difficult. Lady Mia held my head underwater. I was losing my breath because my head was way too long under the water. Air bubbles left my mouth and floated on the water. Just when I thought I was going to drown, Mia removed my face from the water and I sucked in as much air into my lungs as possible.
"What were you doing with Master Malik?" she demanded. "You know the rules!"
