Chapter 38 - Here, Safe and Sound
“This will be your bedroom.”
I observe him cautiously, attentive to his every move. He enters with extreme caution, assessing the surroundings with eyes wide open, appreciating the furniture inside the four walls with various decorations that I have never cared much about and the large bed by the window.
His arms are wrapped around his torso, as if protecting himself from the cold, which he may have, considering that he’s still only wearing the big sweater and the small boxer shorts covering his private parts, which I’m very careful to overlook. I helped him up the stairs of the entrance, but he didn’t want to accept anything beyond that, insisting that he was fine to walk the rest of the way by himself. Which it’s okay...
