“I hope you’re ready to place a new trophy in the display case,” Coach walks slowly through the lockers, patting like a proud father the backs of every player until he stops by my side. “You’ve been through a lot of s**t, guys, don’t disappoint me.”
“Yes, Coach!” We all yell at the same time and start preparing later.
“Especially you, kid,” he places a hand on my shoulder and stares at me. “You know what to do. Stay focused and don’t lose your temper,” he gets even closer so that his next words can only be heard by me. “Even if you do, make sure no one can notice. The others depend on you and I’m sure you’re aware of that.”
