FIANDA "And.....done!!" I said with a light chuckle, dropping the stacks of files on the editor's desk. She let out a short smile as I bowed, my eyes beaming with excitement. I returned back to my seat, I had finished my work early today so I won't have to work overtime as usual. I just couldn't wait to get home and have Killian give me a soothing massage. I smiled as that thought envisioned my mind. I had been so busy last week that I barely had enough time to take a health wise rest not to talk of spending quality time with Killian. Though, he also spent some time at the basketball court but he still had time to rest properly unlike me. I picked my cell phone, attempting to inform Killian that I will be arriving home early today but on a second thought, I discarded the idea. Why not just let it be a surprise! I smiled wholeheartedly, I really couldn't wait to get home, we could watch a movie or go out on an evening dinner date. Or maybe visit karaokes?? How romantic?? Killian would surely love this idea. I thought dreamily as I switched off my PC, took my handbag and walked out. I took a bus as I plugged in my earphones, lip syncing to a song. It was a hobby. I have always dreamt of becoming a music artist but Killian is clearly against that. I understand his reasons perfectly but I still wished I could become one, one day. I highlighted as I sashayed out of the bus, breathing in the fresh evening air. I'm always choked-up with work at the office so I don't really get to enjoy this soothing evening breeze. I strolled happily to our apartment and I almost knocked but my hands stopped mid air when I realised it was slightly open. My brows creased in confusion, Killian wasn't the type to leave the door open. He was always security conscious. Or did he just go out to get something? I thought as I pushed the door slowly and went in. The shiny black handbag lying on the couch caught my attention as soon as I walked in. I moved closer to it. It was definitely not mine but it looked familiar. A moan cut through my ear as the handbag fell from my hands in shock. I walked towards the direction of the sound and peeped through the doorway. My eyes almost bulged out of its socket at the disgusting scene going on. In shock, I pushed the door open with a loud bang as they stopped their unholy act staring at me like they had just seen a ghost. A ghost!! That could be an understatement as regarding the way I was being stared at. They recoiled under the duvet, trying to hide their nakedness as tears brimmed in my eyes. I struggled to mutter a word but it only got stuck back in my throat, it seemed like my tongues were tied. Coiled on the bed, was my husband, Killian and my so called best friend, Mira. "It's not what you think.." Killian stuttered and I threw him a sharp glare. How dare he say that when I caught him in the act? "Then what is it, huh?" I screamed, my tone wavering as I struggled to keep the tears back in. "How dare you cheat?" I asked, raising my fingers slightly as the tears began spilling. "Please, let me explain!!" Killian pleaded while Mira just remained mute, staring at us like she was watching a show, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Mira, how could you?" I muttered, my heart was shattering into pieces. Catching my husband cheating was one case on its own, but catching him cheating on me with my best friend. It surely hits different. I felt betrayed, deceived, hurt, broken, fooled by the ones I had always held dear to my heart. Words can't even express my emotions at that moment. Mira shrugged, looking away like I didn't just say a word. In anger, I matched up to her pulling her by her hair as she let out a yelp. I guess she was shocked at my sudden outburst telling from the way she gazed at me. "I said, how dare you do this to me? I thought you were my best friend?" I yelled insanely as she began pulling my hair too. Killian came in between us as he tried to separate us but I pushed him off when he clung to my waist as I tried to steady my breathing. "How long has this being going on?" I asked in a surprisingly calm tone, hoping to hear a favorable response but what was I expecting?? The opposite for sure!! "Fianda, let me ex...." "Years!!" Mira cut in as she sashayed towards me. My eyes widened at the realisation. "What?" I asked to be sure of what I heard. "You heard me right!!, Killian is mine, he has always been mine, he was never yours from the start." Mira spat with a glare as I found my feet taking few steps backward, it was wobbling and I struggled to maintain my stance. "What's she saying?" I asked, referring to Killian but he only stood there, his gaze darting between Mira and I. I shook my head, not ready to believe what i just heard. "Let me do you the pleasure of explaining this to you...." Mira began with elegant hand gestures as I swallowed a lump in my throat. Killian has always being mine from the start. I met him first but when I introduced him to you as a friend of mine. You confessed that you had a crush on him and I didn't know how to tell you that I was in love with him. So, I pleaded with Killian to act neutral and flow with you and then you both ended up getting married. Without me, Killian wouldn't have ever being yours so just do me the pleasure and walk out of our lives for good. It's so relieving that you had to find out about this sooner. You are just nothing but a second choice. Mira spat distastefully, and I felt my knee go weak as my mouth suddenly became dry. "You...wh....at" I stuttered, glancing at Killian to at least hear a word from him. This can't be true!! "Killian." I called, walking up to him as I gripped his arms tight, shooking him. "Tell me this isn't true!!" I yelled with rage but he couldn't utter a word still. "Don't you get it? Your tenure here is over, kindly leave. You are of no use here!! I'm done playing cards, it's time to make this official!!" Mira yelled as she yanked me away from him and I lost my stance and fell to the ground, my heart shattering into a thousand pieces. Still Killian didn't even make an attempt to move, he just stared blankly at the scene and then I knew instantly that I needed to accept reality. Everything Mira said was the truth. A bitter truth I had to learn off in a heartbroken way. "After everything we've been through Killian!! How could you still do this to me?? You lying, cheating bastard, how dare you, huh?? This marriage is over!" I yelled, standing up as I took off my ring and tossed it away to a side of the room. With one glance, I left, heading to my room to get my luggages. "That ring was real cheap, you going to have to get me something more expensive than that. It needs to cost a fortune." I heard Mira mutter to Killian as I ran, my tears clouded my vision. I got to my room as I rushed straight to the closet and packed all my things into a box. I suddenly felt nauseous, and I rushed to the restroom to throw up. I was too hurt and broken to even think about my health. I dragged my luggage out as I passed by them in the sitting room. I didn't spare any of them a glance but I could hear Mira's constant giggles. If I was a hot-tempered person, she would have probably being beaten to a pulp due to her annoying nature. I paused as soon as I reached for the door knob.
