Just when Annabelle felt they couldn't escape, and were about to meet their doom, Kendrick suddenly turned left to help her, and tapped her right leg. "Step on the gas and go."
Annabelle drove mechanically, as he said, stepping on the gas pedal and driving past the right side of the truck, keeping close to its body.
They rushed onto the opposite lane, and there were oncoming vehicles coming towards them. Honking and slowing down, the vehicles warned her to give way.
Annabelle quickly turned right, preparing to return to the normal lane.
Kendrick, however, took hold of her steering wheel, preventing her from changing direction again. He then slowly adjusted the direction and smoothly merged into the regular lane, before finally parking by the roadside.
