The next morning, Annabelle woke up with Kendrick and made him a quick sandwich for breakfast.
But she didn’t eat anything herself.
Kendrick frowned. “Why aren’t you eating?”
“I don’t have an appetite right now. I’ll eat later,” she replied.
He didn’t press further, but just as he was about to leave, he noticed her putting on her coat and shoes as well.
“You’re heading out?”
Her expression was serious. “Mm. I’ll hitch a ride with you to the pharmacy.”
Concern flashed in his eyes as he reached out to touch her forehead. “Are you feeling unwell?”
Annabelle blushed and swatted his hand away.
Kendrick instantly understood.
A sly grin appeared on his face as he grabbed a scarf and wrapped it around her neck.
“Let’s go.”
