Kendrick's pupils contracted slightly. After a brief silence, he spoke coldly, "No matter what you know about Emilia, it won’t threaten me. Don’t think that just because you know about her, you can ruin my relationship with Annabelle."
He paused for a moment, stood up, and added, "After all, you’ve already lost your place."
Without glancing at Marvin, he turned and walked out of the room.
He hadn’t expected Marvin to know about Emilia, but there was nothing for him to be afraid of. After all, he had planned to let Annabelle meet Emilia at some point anyway.
