Annabelle tilted her head slightly and said firmly, "I don't think you would lie to me."
Kendrick smiled. "Why do you think that?"
He picked out the shrimp wontons from his bowl, as the pink shrimp was easy to spot, and he knew she liked that flavor.
Annabelle looked at the wonton he handed over, then returned a different one of another flavor.
"Stop giving them to me. Didn’t you skip lunch?" she said.
"I was just worried you’d say I don’t care about you," he teased her playfully.
Annabelle pursed her lips, feeling a little embarrassed for having acted childishly earlier, her cheeks turning a bit pink.
"Who told you to take so long to come see me…" she mumbled.
Kendrick chuckled and gave her another wonton. "You still haven’t answered me. Why do you think I wouldn’t lie to you?"
