He had already suspected that Lila was behind the poisoning, but he wasn’t sure if Annabelle’s parents were involved.
Regardless, when Gavyn had introduced Lila to him and clearly tried to match-make them, Kendrick had already developed a strong dislike for Annabelle’s parents.
The things they had done in the past, and even their attempts to introduce other women to him last night, all seemed like things a loving parent would never do to their own daughter.
