The birds in the trees were starting to sing again and it seemed like any other clearing in the forest. Ember seemed more at ease here than she had before. Melony was exhausted from walking so far at a brisk pace. As soon as she reached the middle of the clearing, she fell on the overgrown grass trying to catch her breath. Everyone gathered around her and sat down to start discussing their options.
“Melony, have you been able to remember where your mother's sanctum is?” Ember asked.
“I remember it was in some caves. I also remember a chalice that she would always prick her finger and add a couple of drops of her blood to.” Melony replied.
“She performed a blood protection spell, that won't be easy to get around. Melony, you have to get the chalice out of the cave and spill its contents
