Aiden's POV
Looking around frantically for a way out of here, I ran as fast as I could, limping as hard as I could with every ounce of energy left in my body. It was getting late, I could hear the noises of insects creeping on the tall trees, plants on the path, noises from the bushes got me on high alert. I looked back towards the bushes to realize it's a rabbit and on cue it started to rain. Sighing I got back to limping my way out of the woods. I knew this place like the back of my hand. This was the safest place for people like us to deal or smuggle. No cop could track me down over here but today I was betrayed by my trust worthy person. He has crossed me today and I will make sure to make him miserable. They intended to kill me and well they surely did enough damage that I won't survive if I don't get treated today.
I was never the one who runs away but I had to because I needed to survive to get back at him. I'll make sure to make his death so painful that he will beg me to kill him.
As the saying goes, 'It is necessary sometimes to take one step backward to take two steps forward.'
It was getting really hard to breathe when I finally saw the road, I ran as fast as I could. Once I reached the road, there was not a single soul visible. I was looking around like a mad person in middle of nowhere. My head was getting heavier with every passing second. The rain was pouring heavily. My head started to spin and before I knew I fell on the road. Am I really gonna die?
I heard a loud shriek, as I was losing my conscious. I heard someone approaching me. My heavy head was placed on something soft and I felt someone patting my cheeks lightly. I opened my eyes and came across the most beautiful crystal blue eyes. It looked oddly familiar. As deep as an ocean, those eyes held so much in them. I could drown myself in the depth of those eyes. I then took in the person. She was a gorgeous lady. Her eyes were peaceful to look at. I felt an odd calmness settling in me. I lost the fight I held against my unconsciousness. I felt at peace. I could feel her moving encouraging me to stay awake. I felt her taking out the knife which was stabbed on my stomach. I breathed in deeply after that I felt something tied around my stomach. She was helping me.
I could hear faint noises and before I knew it I was in her car, she was driving so fast yet she kept her one hand around me, keeping me in one place. I felt strangely secured.
"Hold on Mister, I'll get you to the hospital" I heard her panicked yet smooth voice.
"No, not the hospital, take me somewhere else" I mumbled.
"Are you out of your mind? You have already lost so much blood!" She yelled at me. Damn she was the first one to yell at me beside my parents. I couldn't help the upward curve of my lips. Damn I'm losing my control of expression around her or maybe it's because of the situation.
"Take me anywhere but not to the hospital, I will owe you my life." I said.
"OH FOR f**k'S SAKE!" she cursed out loudly, amusing me. That's all I heard before I went into a deep slumber.

.
A striking pair of crystal blue eyes flashed, I looked deep into those beautiful blues, I found myself drowning in the depth of the blues. Peace. I was finally in peace. Wait am I in heaven? But I'm the Devil hidden behind the mask of my angelic charms. My eyes fluttered open, I blinked as I looked around to find myself in a warm cozy room. The window was closed but I could see the weather getting worse. I found myself bandaged, I tried to sit up but the stitches on my stomach was making it difficult. "Where the f**k am I?" I groaned, on cue I heard "SON OF A b***h!" I turned towards the voice as I saw her, she walked out of the bathroom startled. She almost rushed towards me to help me sit up but instead fell hard on the floor. "Fuckin' Hell" she yelped in pain while rubbing her temple. I was on the edge of letting out my laugh but somehow I controlled it. 'It will be rude to laugh'.
"You sure are a clumsy one." I spoke, amused by her. She looked up at me when my grey ones met her crystal blue ones. Those eyes could make me willingly drown in the depth of the ocean. She was frozen on the floor same as I was frozen on the bed, staring back at me with her gorgeous blues. Her stare was so intense as if she could see right through my soul. Her raven black hair cascade down her shoulders. She is gorgeous. "So I've been told." she spoke breaking our stare contest. She chuckled and got up as I realized she was replying to my comment which I made before.
"How are you feeling?" she asked as she sat herself on the stool beside the bed. I looked at her for a moment before mumbling, "I'm feeling like a truck ran over me and these stitches won't let me sit up straight."
She handed me a glass of water which I was thankful for. I gulped down the water. "Are you still thirsty?" she asked.
"No I'm good, but are you alright? You fell quite hard." I asked her remembering her fall which had me on the edge of laughing out loud. I was doing a bad job at controlling my facial expressions as I saw her rolling her eyes at me, "Your face gave you away, go on laugh it out." Her words were enough to set me off in a laughing session which she joined remembering her clumsiness. It had been long since I laughed around freely. I was grateful of her. She saved my life, she made me laugh, she made it possible for me to take my revenge once I get out of here all recovered. She didn't take me to the hospital. She did as I asked her to which made me wonder who treated me. 'Maybe she is a doctor herself.'
"Thank you" I spoke looking at her. "Thank you for saving my life and also thank you for not taking me to a hospital."
She looked at me for a moment before asking, "Who are you?" she was staring at me suspiciously. That had me on the edge, normally I tell them the fake identity I had created for myself and people know me quite well from that identity. 'How could she not know me?' Somehow it was difficult to lie to her maybe because of those crystal blue eyes staring right through my soul but I cannot tell her the truth.
"Oh my bad, I'm Aiden King." I held out my hand which she gave a quick shook, but that short contact was enough to make me feel the electrifying chill that ran through my veins. I looked at her to see if she felt the same but she had a poker face but those eyes of her held the shock which I was in a moment ago.
"Amelia" she spoke pulling me back from my shock state, which made me raise my eyebrow at her 'She didn't tell her last name'. I was about to ask her what her last name was but she cut in, "Who stabbed you? You were injured pretty badly and considering you didn't wanted to go to a hospital gave me a hint that you didn't even wanted to report this to the cops and that makes it clear that know the culprit." she stated looking dead in my eye.
'Damn this girl sure is something'. A smart women with looks of a goddess, I'm so screwed. She figured it out. I gotta be careful now. I chuckled as I asked her changing the topic, "Are you a secret detective or something?"
She rolled her eyes at me, "No but I surely do have a common sense." she stated which made me wonder 'Did I make it that obvious' Dammit women!
"Can you let me stay here till I recover?" she looked at me bewildered. 'Got her'
"Whh..yy N..o Wh..aatt" she stuttered. I stared at her. 'Damn she is cute'. She cleared her throat, "Why do you want to stay here?" she asked me while staring at me suspiciously. 'Why is she so suspicious of me'. Damn does she expects me to leave in this injured state while the weather is getting worse? Such a heartless women. I honestly felt kinda hurt by her. Why the f**k am I being like this? I don't even know her! Though she looks oddly familiar. Do I know her? My heart felt a little heavy, she was making me feel so much in such a short while. I felt vulnerable. 'Damn I gotta lie again' It was hard to lie to her when she looks at me with those blue eyes filled with such depth.
I turned away from her, "Because I've nowhere to go." on cue a phone pinged. Amelia looked on alert as she quickly took the phone from the nightstand. 'I'm damn sure the voice didn't come from this phone'. The nightstand was right beside the bed, I would've known if it pinged. Damn I am so confused by this women. She was acting as if the phone pinged which clearly was not the case. Is she hiding something? I acted as usual. I didn't wanted to let her know that I caught her.
She pulled me back from my thoughts, "You can stay here till you recover considering you don't have anything with you, not even your cellphone." she stated sternly which had me grinning like a fool. "Thank you so much, You are the best."
"But what about your things? Cellphone, wallet, money, etcetera etcetera?" Damn she got me again. I never take things with me when I go to close deals except for a pistol and a knife. Cellphone can get me into trouble if the cops trace it, finding out the place, tapping the calls, etcetera. I make sure to not make any mistakes. Plus I always have back up or a Plan B but it didn't work this time as the most trusted man betrayed me. But damn I gotta lie to her again!
I turned away from those eyes which I can't bear to lie to, "It's alright, I'll call my se.. I mean my friend and let him know, he will take me when I recover." s**t I almost told her about my secretary taking care of my things.
"That will do, Do you need anything? Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? Or maybe juice? If you don't feel like eating."
She bombarded me with question which had me looking back at her, This women sure is something. I started laughing again. She narrowed her eyes at me "What are you laughing at Mister?" she glared at me in a playful manner. I liked this side of her. She reminded me of my mother. Always caring for me. Always there for me.
I stopped laughing, "You remind me of my mother. And a juice will do, I'm not really hungry and I don't need anything else for now."
"Is that a compliment? she asked.
"Depends and thank you for everything. I owe you my life."
"You should actually thank my cousin, she is the one who helped the most." So she is the one who is a doctor I wondered who she is and on cue the door opened and a person walked in. She had brown hairs with light blue eyes, in her mid 30's.
"Oh I see you are awake. How are you feeling?" she asked me. So this is the doctor. I got up my guard around her which made me wonder why did I act like myself around Amelia? She felt different to be around.
"I'm feeling a little weak, my head is heavy, and these stitches are all itchy and painful." I answered her with an expressionless face which I was used to. I'm trained to not show any emotions. Always having a straight face. It was necessary for where I belong to. People should not be able to read you anyhow but Amelia did, even when I tried my best straight face. She sure is different.
"Don't worry you will get better with time." she encouraged me.
"Thank you for everything doctor." I was thankful.
"Oh c'mon you can call me Claire. No need of formalities." she smiled at me.
"Aiden King" I shook hands with her, which was normal nowhere near the way it felt with Amelia. There we go again!
I was grateful to Claire as much as I was to Amelia but I cannot let my guard down around people but being around Amelia was different.
Claire turned towards Amelia who was lost in her own thoughts, "Amy you should go get those medicines."
"Oh yeah right, I'll be back soon." she was flustered then she turned towards me staring with her blues. I swear my heart skipped a beat.
"Take care" she smiled at me which I gladly returned. Damn I'm so screwed. With that she walked out of the room leaving me a little uncomfortable with her cousin. I was already missing her. 'This woman has got me real bad.'
