Jack was now dressed in his uniform. This one was a navy blue overcoat, with the school symbol embroidered on the left side of the chest, the buttons were golden and each one had the school's initials in relief, the pants were denim, gray or beige, and the shoes were black or brown, with an elongated or round beak. The long sleeves of the overcoat and even the uniform shirt kept the Student Bracelet hidden, but a simple roll up of the sleeves revealed it again.
For some reason, Jack thought he was being watched as he walked around the school. In fact, Jack thought he'd seen a small creature watching him since he'd arrived in Lightland, but it always hid from his sight. While Jack was looking for that strange creature that followed him for so long, he ended up bumping into someone.
"Can you look where you're going?" She growled a guy turning to Jack, "you must be a mere novice, right? To bump into me so disrespectfully like that."
Jack didn't say anything.
"You're ignoring me, are you? You lard pudding" The guy approached, "I'm talking to you."
"My bad, it's just that I don't know you." Jack replied.
"Well, know that I'm Odaiv. And this is the Odaiv g**g. We're pretty well known here already. Even if you're a newbie, it's no excuse for not knowing us."
"Oh fine. Nice to meet you, I'm Jack."
"I didn't ask, you rotund rookie!"
Jack fumed.
"I just want to go my way, okay?"
"Of course! If you ask, please, and do a basic curtsy. And also admit that the g**g of Odaiv is the best, okay?"
"Dude, I don't want trouble. I just want to get through."
"Do it and I'll let it go. I'm taking it easy on you."
"I will not bow to you."
"Very brave, for a rotund rookie," Odaiv then shoved Jack, who tripped over his friend, whose he was crouched for just this purpose. The other students who saw the scene laughed. Odaiv's face was irritating. She had horse-like teeth that left her mouth open, giving the impression that she was always laughing, her eyes were wide and pulled up, her hair was straw-colored and cut in the shape of a bowl. One of the boys who accompanied him had a topknot and wore sunglasses and the other was bald with just a hair band in the middle of his head. Jack got up angrily.
"Will you face it? Rotund rookie." Odaiv teased with a look of contempt.
The other students laughed and whispered “look at the Odaiv g**g messing with the newbies again”.
"I will, horse face."
The students booed and encouraged a fight. Odaiv, furious, set out to strike Jack when someone stopped his hand.
"Brawling is unhealthy," said Fenrir, taking the boy's hand and looking at him with his usual bored face.
"Fenrir!" Jack exclaimed happily.
"Who the hell are you?" Odaiv asked, pulling away from Fenrir abruptly.
"I'm your little friend, let's play?" Fenrir smiled wryly.
Odaiv was amused.
"What a cutest little boy, have you lost your mommy, little boy? It's funny how brave you guys are looking to be so weak. Plus, we still have the numerical advantage, we're three and you two."
"Are you sure about that?" Arthur appeared, humming that song he always used to hum.
"Oh no, another ridiculous rookie, bleached hair and plump, what will he do?"
"Plump? How can you not see I'm just stout?!"
"The question is, rookies, do you really want trouble with us?" The guy in the dark glasses and the topknot asked, trying to sound intimidating. Fenrir yawned and it didn't go unnoticed by the guy.
"All right mate, I noticed you guys are trying to sound intimidating and all that, come on, if we pretend to be scared, will you be happy and stop annoying us?"
"You brat, what did you say?" She growled the topknot guy, "Pretending to be scared?"
"We are strong and you guys are weak." Odaiv spoke with confidence.
"Want to see what we are?" Arthur punched his own hand. Odaiv smiled, showing his “horse teeth” even more.
"No way, let's finish you now!"
The boy wearing sunglasses attacked Arthur by surprise, and he dodged by millimeters. The other students were now shouting “Fight! Fight! Fight!". Fenrir attacked Odaiv, who parried the blow with his right arm. The bald boy lunged at Jack, who brought both arms to his face to defend the blow. Jack then delivered a blow to the boy's side, who dodged with a leap backwards. The boy raised his fist to his face and it began to glow.
"Try my stunt, stupid newbie!" The boy spoke. The fist pulsing in glow "MEGA POWERFUL PUNCH!" He yelled, firing the punch at Jack's chest. It had been a strong impact. Jack felt breathless for a moment and was thrown back. He moaned along the floor. Fenrir attacked fiercely like a wolf, he had already taken some blows, but he had given his in Odaiv.
"You fight well, little boy" Odaiv admitted.
"I'm taking it easy on you" Fenrir replied.
"Oh yeah? Well, prove my amazing magical abilities!" Odaiv opened his hand. A small orange circle appeared. "AGGRESSIVE FLAMES!!" Odaiv fired the magic at Fenrir, who quickly thought of counterattacking.
"ECLIPSE HARPOON!" Fenrir shouted. The two energies collided, producing a small explosion sound. Odaiv's flames dissipated, and Fenrir's dark shot went past him and finally, hitting him in the chest. Odaiv fell away, knocked out. Arthur was massacring his opponent, the boy's glasses were all destroyed and there was no more topknot.
"Hey Arthur, that's enough, get a grip." Fenrir tried to appease his friend.
"I think I got carried away!" Arthur laughed.
"You ran the guy over, like a bull. A stone bull."
"Stone bull, I like it." Arthur smiled, "I am Arthur, the Stone Bull!"
"How about... Stone Taurus?" Fenrir asked with the hand in the chin.
"Stone Taurus!" Arthur yelled.
Jack then also got up and ended up with the boy who had attacked him. The other students shouted, congratulated and some booed, until they quickly stopped and dissipated. Jack found it strange and then found out why. Turning back, he saw Coordinator Amelia with a stern look.
"Screwed..." Arthur said with a whistle. The woman looked at them coldly.
"With me." She said and was gone as if she wanted to be followed.
