Of all his friends, Fenrir was the luckiest at the battle site, or so he thought. It was practically in the backyard of the inn. He even saw the Interdimensional Guardians' mind magicians at work. They were guys dressed in deep blue hooded robes and wore white masks with an inverted question mark painted in the center. Whatever those guys were, Fenrir didn't like them. "Was modifying those people's memories a really good thing? I mean, they were bad memories, but still..." that's what he thought.
Fenrir found his opponent sitting in front of a leafy and apparently ancient tree there.
"The cheeky kid really had the courage to come." Said the weird guy with a weird smile on his face.
"Better get it over with", Fenrir replied without changing his voice.
"On this we fully agree" the guy smiled, getting up. He had some kind of little cube in his hand, which he crushed with a suggestive smile to Fenrir, as if to say that this was what he would do with the boy. The atmosphere of the place had changed, Fenrir now found himself in another world, Fantastinen, if he remembered well the name Gwendy had said for a quick moment. He wondered where the strange girl was. "I hope you like the place I chose for our battle, cheeky boy, a good place for dark lovers like us. Besides, it's very practical to fight here. When I kill you I'll bury you in one of these tombs and that's okay."
"Yeah, but we have a problem."
"Oh yes? And what would it be?"
"I kind of didn't pay attention when you said your name, so it's going to be hard to make a grave for you. Oh, I know, I'll just put 'That Weird of The Chains'. I think everyone will know who it is." The Guardian growled angrily and began to emanate magical energy from his hands. "Hey man, why were you so angry? Didn't you say we didn't deserve to know your name or something?"
"You talk too much, huh?" Grumbled the Guardian, seeming to contain his anger, "Alright come on, I'll let you make the first move. Come on up!"
"Ahn... no, thanks."
"So suffer your filthy little worm! MIDNIGHT CHAINS!!" The currents surged forward as if they were alive towards Fenrir, who jumped out of the attack's course to one side. The attack just hit some gravestone there and broke it into pieces.
Fenrir ran around his opponent and then began to concentrate a magic attack on his hand. He took a little jump and fired his little shadow spear:
"ECLIPSE HARPOON!!" And fired his technique at the opponent, the dark magic attack advanced, but was stopped:
"MIDNIGHT CHAINS!!" Roared his opponent by summoning the currents of dark energy that blocked Fenrir's attack. The Guardian laughed "was this really an attempted attack?" Then he moved the chains to Fenrir, so fast he had no chance to dodge. The weirdo's magic trapped the boy's limbs, arms and legs and squeezed hard. "My chains are very versatile, they serve to attack, defend and arrest my opponents, do you think you have a chance?" before Fenrir could respond, the Guardian moved his hands and the chains followed his orders, he slammed the boy against a tombstone there, Fenrir roared as he felt the impact. The Guardian laughed at the sight of Fenrir fallen, "I'll crush you like a little shi..."
"Hey, hey, hey calm down buddy!" Fenrir asked, standing up and giving a smirk "why this revolt?"
"Because I don't like cheeky little kids!"
"Technically, I'm a teenager, just like you, plus I also don't like weirdos who watch tentacle hentai. That's not why you see me saying all the time that I'm going to kill you. That's right, I don't hate you, buddy, if I'm going to kill you it would be on a whim."
"Just shut up you prat! MIDNIGHT CHAINS!!" and once more the Guardian invoked his technique, which charged against Fenrir, but this time the boy managed to run to the side and hide behind one of those mausoleums.
"See? You keep talking a lot of nonsense, but then when I say something you get annoyed, how unfair, man" Fenrir said, still behind the stone mausoleum. Touching the marble of that mausoleum, Fenrir felt something strange, a new sensation that seemed increasingly familiar to him. His magical technique, Eclipse Harpoon, didn't necessarily need to fire instantly. He thought, if he concentrated and used a little more of his magical energy, it could be triggered through other triggers, it could be used as a trap, for example, that's what he thought. He wanted to test this theory, then he concentrated a certain amount of his power on the cold stone of the mausoleum. A black stain, like a shadow, sinisterly penetrated the stone and there made a strange, unnatural symbol. He smirked.
The Guardian suddenly appeared, looking to slide sideways through the earth. He had a sinister expression on his face.
"Come on, stop hiding behind your chains and face me in direct combat, if you dare."
"Said the guy who hides behind graves. No, your teasing won't change my mind. MIDNIGHT CHAINS!!" And the chains broke out with a thirst for death, advancing like evil snakes. Fenrir fled the attacks by jumping onto the roof of the mausoleum. "I'll knock you out of there by force and break all your bones" the Guardian spoke, running from the side of the mausoleum across the cemetery floor to approach Fenrir.
"Then that's it", the boy thought, "although these chains have a great range, it is limited. If I were better at math, I would calculate the distance of this damn technique. Damn it, I should have taken my studies more seriously." It turns out that Fenrir stopped thinking about these things just when the Guardian stopped in front of the magic trap he had placed earlier. The stranger with the chains turned around with a psychotic smile on his face, ready to cast those chains again, but the Harpoon Eclipse suddenly sprouted from the cold marble, the strange unnatural stain redrawn into a small spear that lunged at the Guardian. The latter, in turn, widened his eyes when he noticed the sudden attack, but managed to dodge by a hairsbreadth, with the attack grazing his face and hurting him slightly. "This is great, I was tired of concentrating on that trap", Fenrir thought, taking advantage of the enemy's distraction to leap back from his opponent's body and then smack him hard with a kick in the back.
The weird of the chains gave a roar of pain as he was hit and was thrown forward until he crashed into the marble of the mausoleum, breaking it and entering that gloomy room of the dead. As he lay there lying among the rubble of the mausoleum, Fenrir said:
"Yes, I found I can make these traps with my magic. That makes things a lot more interesting, doesn't it?"
