Alexander Dormitory, Section 4 - (Miguel)

1178 Words
Section four wasn't a luxury, but it wasn't unpleasant either, it was clean and comfortable like... a good inn. Sam, Marcus, Stanis and Arthur were all together with him, in section four, while Seraph, for some reason, was either in five or even in six. The seventh, as Miguel had heard, was for the cream of the pan, only the most exemplary third years or from the noblest families. Section six was also quite luxurious as Miguel had heard, and section five was much cozier than section four, but at least Miguel wasn't in section three, like Jack, Ethan, and Fenrir, so he judged himself lucky. Miguel and Stanis would be roommates, along with two other boys they didn't know, Sam, Arthur and Marcus would be together, but there was a fourth unfamiliar boy. "We'll have to be careful," Miguel whispered to his friends, "we can't let them see our Kerd marks on ourchests." "Miguel is right," Marcus agreed, "if anyone sees this, it can be tricky keeping your identities a secret. Be careful." "Very well then" Sam said, "well I'm going to my room, it's been a long day and..." He stopped talking when little clumps made themselves heard, like firecrackers exploding and then green smoke started to form and it stank a lot and each time more firecrackers exploded, it stank, starting to make the place unbearable. It was getting hard to breathe, Miguel and the others ran outside, he saw that students from sections three, two and one were there too, most, if not all, were newbies. Many were still in towels, as was the case with Ethan, Fenrir and Jack were also close to him. In front of the dorm, the newcomers came face to face with a handful of laughing seniors. "We welcome our beloved freshmen!" Laughed a guy in a coat that had the colors of the gym. All the newbies there were complaining. "Seniors students" Miguel heard a boy tell Jack, if he wasn't mistaken it was this Billy guy who was in some classes with him. Arthur looked quite annoyed, and growling, he tried to advance against the veterans. Marcus stopped him. "They're a lot, man, and they're also more trained and experienced than you." And it was true, most here were older than Arthur. "Hey, hey, relax, newbies!" Said a tall, athletic, elven-looking boy with long blond hair, "hey, how about if you guys cool off a bit?" "Literally cool off!" Another laughed and only then did Miguel realize what was under the feet of all the newcomers who came out. It was a circle of magic. It had been a trap and they all fell straight. A portal opened and in the next moment Miguel and all the other novices fell directly into Glass Lake, the lake that was on the grounds of the academy, the water was very cold, and although Miguel felt at home in that lake the same could not be done. tell the rest of your friends.  "Miguel, are you there?" Ethan asked, raising one of his fists and making a light shine on that lake that was dark at night, "help Fenrir, he can't swim!" Miguel helped the chosen one of the dark, who was just struggling on the surface of the water and was about to sink, Miguel asked his friend to hold his shoulder until they reached the shallows or land. "V-v-very f-funny, th-this pr-prank" Fenrir complained, his chin pounding from the cold, "I'm a-actually s-shivering with la-laughter!" ... "M-my b-bad not helping y-you th-that hour, F-Fenrir" Ethan said, also shivering from the cold, after all, he was still only in a towel and now a very wet towel "I was swimming w-w-with on-one hand, it was either that or lose the towel." Fenrir didn't say anything, just nodded in agreement and also shivered like a wet puppy. At those times it was nice to be the bearer of the water crystal, Miguel thought. "O-o-okay g-guys, just wait a m-minute, I'm going to light a fire here" Jack also said coldly, he tried to create flames in his hands, but not a spark came out. It was at that moment that the little sadhvi creature, Indira, appeared there, glowing slightly with that very white fur and the pink stone on her forehead, the fairy's wings looked like small spots of glitter. "H-hey, t-there you are, shouldn't you w-warn us of danger or something?" Ethan complained to Indira, who seemed to put on a face of annoyance and then made her little hands... or paws... whatever, glow with a magic that surrounded Ethan's body, drying him in a matter of seconds like a mega-powerful blow dryer. "Wow, that was refreshing, well…thanks, Indira. I feel better now."  Indira then did this little comforting spell on the others, one at a time, until everyone was dry and even somewhat recovered from their fatigue. "What a bunch of jerks!" Sam complained to Fenrir, Ethan was very irritated by the whole situation and mainly because his hair was very messy, but Arthur, after all that, said: "You know what? Even though those guys are idiots, it wasn't too bad, at least I don't even need to shower anymore!" And then he laughed. ... At dinnertime, Miguel heard Jack and the others agree to once again compete to see who ate the most. "No, really? Not again guys!" Miguel complained, "just once, can you be a little polite?" But who said they listened to them? It was at dessert time, the little creature, Indira, was there and she was eating small pieces of candy and seemed to enjoy it a lot. Miguel's Student Bracelet vibrated slightly and a message notification appeared on its display. It was a message and appeared to be encoded. Quickly Miguel forgot about dessert and just focused on solving that riddle, the friends warned him that it was time to go and the dessert had passed and at that time Miguel solved the riddle. The hours! The letters were arranged in numbers like hands, every half hour was a letter, in twelve hours it totaled twenty-four letters, the last two letters of the alphabet were represented by midday and midnight. The message went something like this: "I-m.a.d.e-s.u.r.e-y.o.u-g.u.y.s-w.e.r.e-t.o.g.e.t.h.e.r-a.n.d-c.o.m.f.o.r.t.a.b.l.e-I.t-d.i.d.n.t-w.o.r.k-S.o.m.e.o.n.e-s.a.b.o.t.a.g.e.d-t.h.e-o.p.e.r.a.t.i.o.n-i.n.t.e.r.n.a.l.l.y-S.o.m.e.o.n.e-o.n-t.h.e-f.a.c.u.l.t.y-k.n.o.w.s-y.o.u.r.e-t.h.e.r.e-T.h.e.y-h.a.v.e-p.l.a.n.s-C.a.r.e.f.u.l.l-S.i.g.n.e.d,-y.o.u.r-r.o.y.a.l-f.r.i.e.n.d." Then: "I made sure you guys were together and comfortable. It didn't work. Someone sabotaged the operation internally. Someone on the faculty knows you're there. They have plans. Carefull. Signed, your royal friend." So whoever it was had been specifically careful that Miguel and the others didn't stay in the same dorms, but it didn't do anything more serious than that, it just caused some discomfort. Whoever was there, he didn't want to get rid of the boys at once, he just wanted to give a little warning at this point, a warning that he had them in the palm of his hand, whoever it was, wanted to make the boys paranoid or something like that... Miguel was apprehensive, looked at his friends, who seemed unconcerned and just for a moment wished to be like them.
