Towards a Magical World - (Jack)

"He is dead?" asked a child's voice. "No, I don't think so," replied one man, "he moved a bit just now." "Let's take him..." So he didn't hear anything else. Jack woke up after a while, but he didn't know how long. "Where… where am I?" Jack asked himself, stunned. A little boy who was in the place had opened a smile when he saw Jack giving signs of life. "Hey, so you woke up!" exclaimed the boy upon seeing him, "hey, man!" "Who are you?" "My name is Daisuke. Daisuke Ryoshi, how about you?" "Jack Zaek." A man appeared in the room. He looked a little like that boy, but with a much older appearance, both had slanted eyes and oriental features, they also wore similar clothes, kimonos somewhat worn. "Are you alright, boy?" asked the man. "Yes, but… where am I?" "Taiyô Village." A severe headache took over Jack. He wanted to remember how he got there, but he was still too confused and weak. "Are you sure you're alright, boy?" "Yeah…I think so. I remember who I am, but I don't remember why I'm here…when I try to think about it, my head hurts and I get dizzy." "Try to rest a little, my daughter will bring you some tea. Come on Daisuke, let's let the boy rest." "Something is wrong, should things be like this?" Thought Jack before lying back down and blacking out. Jack woke up to a girl shaking him, a beautiful, slender girl. She had long, silky black hair that even glowed, and she had a fringe that made her prettier, her eyes, with oriental features, gave her an air of purity and meekness. She had in her hands a small bowl that exhibited a little smoke. She wore a kind of pink and white kimono. She sat down by those mattresses, which were called the futons where Jack was lying, and handed him the tea. Jack took the drink, a little awkwardly, and sipped it. It was hot, but that wasn't a big deal for him. In the end, he controlled fire magic. Jack was feeling weird. Who were these people? "I'm Kazumi, you're Jack, right?" the girl asked, breaking the ice. "Er…yes I am." Jack replied. "I'm sorry if I'm being too nosy but…where are you from? You're not from around here, right? You have a certain Imperial City accent, but you still look like a foreigner, from far-away lands." "Er... I..." "I took a look at the little bag you had with you and there was some weird stuff in there." "W-wait, what do you mean?" "Not to mention you have some kind of mark on your chest, a tattoo." "How do you know that?" "Jack, are you a delinquent or wannabe gangster?" "That's not it!" "Are you sure?" "I have no reason to lie." "And I have no reason to believe it." "Well, she's more complicated than I thought" Jack thought, but said nothing. Kazumi sighed. "Sorry about that, it's just... we're having a hard time here in our village. You must have your problems, but they must have nothing to do with ours. Anyway, I'm sorry. Enjoy your stay, Jack." Kazumi got up and was leaving the room, before that she said, "Oh, and don't tell my dad I investigated your stuff, please!" Later, Jack was called to eat with the people who housed him. "So…boy, what happened to you?" The old man asked. He had said his name was Hayato and he was a fisherman. "When I try to remember...my head hurts" Jack said, "I just remember that...they said I should go to a place called Lightland and that I should look for clues about a certain scroll here." "Dad, maybe…maybe the goddess heard my prayers?" Kazumi asked. "This is ridiculous, Kazumi, just forget about it and don't bring it up again, okay?" After that, they continued to eat in silence. After dinner, Jack went to check on his stuff. Daisuke the boy was by his side, being basically a curious one. "You came from Lightland? What do you have to do there? Are you an adventurer? Have you ever faced a monster?" asked the boy. "Yes, I faced monsters", Jack smiled "in the beginning I was very scared, they were horrible and they stink a lot" Daisuke laughed at that, "but then I remembered that if I didn't pluck up courage, if I was always afraid then. ..so they were never going to respect me, so I thought this was way worse than any monster!" "Wow Jack, this is awesome! Do you have a party?" "Yes, I do! Each one of them controls a different element than mine. We have Arthur, who is an impulsive i***t who only thinks about fighting and uses earth magic. We have Miguel, who thinks he's a genius, but isn't even that smart and controls water magic, Sam, who is a bit of a windhead and guess what, controls wind magic!" Jack and Daisuke laughed, "we also have Ethan, who is the eldest, he controls light magic and takes the lead but secretly is a p-e-r-v-e-r-t, and last but not least Fenrir seems harmless but controls dark magic and I consider him my rival !" "This looks amazing Jack. Where are they?" "I don't know. The Order sent us on separate missions, but I came here with another team; Kaia, Thea and Jeremy... What happened when I got separated from them, I don't know, but I hope I'll remember soon." "Okay Daisuke, it's time to go to sleep, you're going to wake up early tomorrow, remember?" Kazumi said to his brother. "Aaaah, but Jack was telling me the stories of his adventures!" The boy complained. "Jack can tell you another time, by the way, I bet Jack is tired too, isn't that right Jack?" Jack made a point of nodding his head yes, "Very well Daisuke, come on." And then she took Daisuke to sleep. After that, Kazumi went back there. Jack was seeing something on his cell phone when she appeared. "Hey, what is this? Is it some kind of magical device or something?" She asked. "This? No, it's just my cell!" "I don't know what this is, what is it for?" Kazumi sat down next to Jack. "Hm...er...lots of things I think." Jack showed some of the photos he had with friends in the gallery, "these are the ones I was telling your brother about." "Interesting. Can I…can I try?" "Hm... yeah, sure." Jack handed the cell phone to Kazumi, who was passing the photos aside. "Well, as I said, these are my friends, they're not as handsome as I am, of course, but they're nice people, ha, ha." Jack tried to be funny, but Kazumi didn't even c***k a smile, just stared at the screen. Jack thought there was something odd so he looked at the screen to see what she was seeing. "Oh no, I should have seen it coming!" Jack thought, cursing to himself. The girl ended up coming to the lewd images Jack had in the gallery, images of a type of art known as hentai. Jack noticed her blushing a little and so she handed him the object back without looking him in the face. "Goodbye to all my chances with this pretty girl!" Kept thinking Jack, now whining. "Hmm, cool," she said dryly and an awkward silence followed afterward. "Now she must think I'm like Ethan!" Jack thought in horror. The awkward silence continued for a while. "This isn't what I was preparing for!" "S-so… is this the kind of thing you like?" Kazumi asked in a low voice. "W-what?" "B-busty girls wearing these weird clothes..." "I-it's not that, I can explain..." Jack babbled and Kazumi finally looked into his face. "Quick, Jack, quickly think of something to say!" The boy thought and then gave the most serious look he could get in a situation like that. "It so happens that an evil perverted sorcerer keeps sending these things to my magic box, to diverge my focus from the path of virtue and demoralize my impeccable conduct." Jack replied without stuttering and in a very serious way to convey confidence. Kazumi showed no reactions. "I get it… so that's it," the girl replied, "I'm glad you're not that kind of guy I guess." "Of course not, ha, ha, if I were to say my tastes I would much prefer girls with small breasts like you, ha, ha!" Jack laughed with his eyes closed and his hand behind his head, he didn't foresee a strong slap from the girl who made a loud popping sound, making the boy fall to the side. Kazumi got up with an irritated huff and started to leave. "Right, I think I deserved this one, how dumb I am! I screwed it up, aaaah!" He thought, caressing the place where the slap was burning. Kazumi, however, stopped before leaving, still standing. Jack thought maybe she liked bold guys, but that wasn't the subject that came up. "Are you really an adventurer?" She asked in a serious tone, still with her back turned. "I am so much more than that. I am a hero!" Jack replied confidently. Kazumi finally turned around and looked at Jack. She was smiling. "I've been thinking about it so much, thinking about it since you arrived!" "What are you talkin about?" "I prayed to Tsuki, our protector goddess, the goddess of heroes and heroism, of daring and bravery, the goddess of the Empire of the Sun. I asked her to send a brave hero to our lands to free us from the oppression of the Blood Katana Gang." It was so much information at once that Jack didn't know where to start. "Blood Katana?" "Our much loved village has long been forgotten by our rulers. For our “protection” we have only a bunch of disgraceful evildoers, oppressors of our people, led by an honorless Ronin named Osamu. They call themselves the Blood Katana g**g. Would be you, Jack? The hero of our people?" "Maybe that's why I'm here, right?" Jack responded enthusiastically, "Does this village need a hero? Very well, I will be that hero! I can take out some bad guys!" "Tsuki heard my prayers! My father finding you in the river was no coincidence after all! Thank you so much, Jack!" "Sure, he! He! He! But don't say thanks yet. Just after I teach those evildoers a lesson, okay?" "Yes!" She responded excitedly, "I'll let you rest now Jack and thanks again!" Saying this, she left the room. "Damn! She's so beautiful! And I think she's falling for me. Yeah, I think being the fire hero has its benefits. Oh Kazumi, with the angelic face!" The boy hugged himself. "Talking to yourself, Jack?" Daisuke suddenly appeared, making the chosen one take a fright. "Look, don't show up like that, brat!" "It's just that, for a moment, to me, it felt like you were saying my sister's name while you were hugging yourself." "N-no, your impression! Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" "Oh, I wanted to hear more stories!" "That's enough for today, okay kid? Come on, let's go to sleep. And don't say anything about what you saw just now…I mean, what you THINK you saw, to your sister!" Saying this, Jack lay down on the futon and turned around on his back, lying down to the boy, who left muttering that Jack was boring.
