That mysterious magical train "landed" on the car between the platforms, its magical rainbow-colored aura disappeared and the magical runes that glowed in the car took on the strange shape of a train track formed of magic letters. The huge locomotive then honked and blew smoke from the chimney, like indeed a creature that had landed after a long flight and was now breathing at rest. Now it was just an ordinary train, without the aura. Or rather, almost an ordinary train, since the great angelic wings, although retracted, were still attached to the body of that vehicle.
"All aboard, all aboard!" The conductor shouted as he tolled a bell.
"This is the famous Quetzalcoatl Express" Miguel said with a smile, proud of himself for knowing these things.
"All right, have your tickets in hand and let's get on the express quetzo-whatever!" Ethan said, but before he walked in, someone grabbed him by the arm. Fenrir saw a girl with red-streaked hair, looking fifteen years old around.
"We meet again, Ethan Celestian." She smiled at Ethan, who was caught off guard and was speechless, he just babbled:
"E-Elza."
...
Fenrir, Marcus, Jack and Sam sat in the same car, and there was already a boy there, although Fenrir didn't pay much attention to him. The train's magical aura began to surround him again when they were inside. Fenrir fought with Jack through the window and managed to stay with him. The boy was looking out the window as the bus began to move slowly on that rail of magical runes and when it reached a fast train speed, it began to magically take off.
"That's…just amazing, right?" Jack exclaimed from his side, trying to look out the window.
"Yeah" Fenrir smiled back, "it's really cool."
While the trip was going on, the boys were talking about trivia. Fenrir looked at the landscape and sometimes looked at his friends. Sam said something about his cousin, who was a Guardian girl, but Jack was so chatty that Fenrir couldn't pay much attention to two people talking to him at the same time.
At one point, Fenrir just got up a little to stretch his legs, have a little silence in his ears and go to the bathroom.
He was already on his way back to his seat when he saw three girls standing and an old man on the floor with fallen and broken dishes and scattered food.
"You old dumb!" one of the girls screamed. She wore a hot pink skirt, a turquoise shirt under a purple cardigan. She had short black hair and wore glasses. She was pretty, but she seemed to be the spoiled, irritating type. "You really are useless!"
"Even the servants of this academy seem to be declining, Monique," said another of the girls contemptuously.
"Uh-huh" another girl agreed, "I don't want to criticize our king, but since he opened the door for all kinds of people to study at the academy, it has started to drop a lot in level. The academy should remain for the elite, for the nobles, for those who know how to behave and not just any riffraff."
"Did you hear that, you dirty old man?" Said the girl with glasses with disgust in her voice, "how do you explain that?"
"Forgive me, miss," the old man pleaded, still on the ground, not looking directly into the young girls' faces. He wore neat clothes, with a brown leather suspender. He had long hair, white as cotton, as well as a long beard that reached his chest. "I… it wasn't on purpose, I didn't want to…"
"Of course not, you're just too old and becoming useless" the girl's friends giggled when she said that. The other people ignored this confusion. "Try to fix it now!" The girl gave a little look at a boy who was sitting with four friends in a compartment nearby. Dominick. Fenrir saw this and was irritated. "Come on, you old dog, I'm telling you!"
The poor old man followed orders, but his hands shook with nervousness. Fenrir continued walking, hands in his pockets. “Damn it, it's not my problem!” he thought as he approached. The girl continued to yell at the old man. "That old man, that old man take care of himself." He got to where they were, and walked past, controlling himself. He was already a few steps after the old man, when the girl said:
"Ouch! He touched me, yuck! Disgusting! See what you did? i***t!"
"DESTROY!" The voice that spoke to Fenrir seemed to howl and bark inside his mind.
Fenrir wanted to destroy it all, but he held back. The girl was about to kick the old man's hand with her expensive shoes, but Fenrir quickly walked over and caught the girl's kick, who didn't seem to expect it. now Fenrir was beside the old man, crouched next to him.
"H-hey!" The girl stammered, "hey, who do you think you are, boy?" She picked up her feet with her expensive shoe, "What are you doing here? This wagon is for the privileged class, for the nobles! You have no right to be here!"
Now that she had spoken, Fenrir realized how different those carriages were from where he was, with far more luxe and pomposity. Fenrir cast a sidelong glance. The girls seemed to back off a little scared, but only for an instant. In the next moment, an expression of aggression was on their faces, especially in the girl with the glasses.
"Damm!" Fenrir thought, he would yell at her, but at the last moment he held back. “Wanting to get attention at the expense of others like that. How annoying.” The old man was shivering and sweating. His clothes stank of mildew and he smelled faintly of rain. Without saying anything, the boy started to help the old man. The old man looked at Fenrir, his eyes were watery and he seemed to thank him with a look.
The aggressive face of the girls turned into a look of mockery and contempt. The girl laughed, accompanied by her two friends.
"Now I get it, it's just another servant who picks up our dirt. Look at this. The garbage man and the junior garbage man. Ha, ha, ha!"
Fenrir looked her up and down and gave her a slightly sarcastic smile.
"It's better to be the garbage man than the garbage itself. Shall I pick you up too, miss?"
For a moment, everyone was silent and gaping. No one believed what had happened, and then the students in that car finally burst into laughter and funny boos at the girl. The girl scrunched up her face, filled with hatred. Yes, the aggressive expression is even worse now.
"I don't think I should have said that," thought the boy. Fenrir was still for a moment.
"What did you say?" The girl asked through gritted teeth, annoyed but not seeming to believe what had happened, or even hoping for some kind of apology.
"I told you to get out of here before you goes to recycling," Fenrir smiled. Now there was no turning back. The girl looked at Dominick once more. He was wide-eyed, and seemed to hold back a laugh. She turned red with anger.
"You'll pay for this you weirdo kiddo, you filthy brat!" She snarled, pointing her finger at Fenrir. Saying this, she turned on her heel, snorting in rage and walked away, taking hard steps.
"Boy, you're going to regret doing this" the girl's friend said, giggling despicably. He hadn't even reached school yet and had already made enemies. Excellent! Everyone in the wagon booed as the girls left. Fenrir laughed a little. After collecting the garbage on the floor, the chosen one looked at the old man.
"Thank you, my child" The old man thanked, sincerely, "what's your name, please?"
"My name is Fenrir, and you?"
"My name is Alberich, my young nobleman, and now a loyal friend to you."
"Why did you let them treat you like that, Alberich? Why didn't you react?"
The old man smiled.
"She's just a noble child and I'm just a servant. I'm here to serve the students, even if it's a difficult job at times."
Fenrir thought for a moment. The sage profile, the white beard...
"I know! You're the school headmaster, aren't you?"
"No, no young man, I'm just a servant. I'm just a janitor."
"Eh, eh! You don't fool me, you look too much like Dumbledore for that. Well, later, Mr. Headmaster. Hope to get some points for that, huh?" Fenrir said this and left the room, heading back to his wagon and cabin.
