The Desire to be Stronger - (Arthur)

776 Words
Arthur hurried out of the Eagle's room and was thinking only of one thing. "I'm strong, I'm very strong, much stronger than I've ever been...but I'm NOT the strongest yet! That's what I want! Training is good, but it's in the midst of action and real battles that I actually evolve." He was still bothered by everything that had happened, how he'd lost in an arm wrestling match to Stanis and Marcus, how that girl Jack was fighting seemed to be so strong and how Eagle had basically said he was scared to do his stupid mission. Was not! Arthur was actually excited to find someone strong enough and then outdo him like he did with Glabro. "You seem distracted, Arthur." Said a gravelly voice suddenly. It was him, Arkouda Glabro and he smiled at Arthur as if they were old friends. "Glauco" Arthur also smiled at his former adversary. "You keep confusing my name, don't you?" Glabro went to him and they shook hands, "It's Glabro. Arkoúda Glabro." "Alright, I won't forget anymore." "You and yours got the better of us, right? What a shame, we kept telling you guys that you weren't worthy, but in the end we ended up getting our asses kicked." "You were a great test, I got much stronger after the battle against you. Now I have a mission to accomplish, but apparently we can't arrange any kind of trouble or fight. I need to get stronger, gathering information won't make me stronger !" "It's important that you always want to become stronger, Arthur, but not all battles will be won with your fists alone. Remember that, your mental strength is just as important as your physical strength." "I didn't know you played philosopher in your spare time, Glabro. Anyway, I have to go to this room" Arthur pointed to his card, "until next time." "Good luck on your mission." Glabro smiled at him and Arthur went on his way. When he walked into the room, he saw two of the First Class guys there, Philip Seraph and Marcus. "So are we going to work with you? Too bad." Seraph shrugged. "Hey, what do you mean by that, huh?" "I don't know, maybe you're one of the most dumb-headed crystal bearers and that you only think with your muscles...if you ever think about it." "What is thinking about going to help me solve my problems? Life is very short and many spend it all thinking and don't actually live. I don't think, I solve my problems, with my instincts and strength." "Enough, this debate is getting us nowhere." Said that girl who had fought with Jack before, Anna, if Arthur remembered correctly. "Hello Arthur, we are here to help you with some things. I'm an earth magic user too, Second Class, Hana Aiko. Do you have your kerd there?" Arthur confirmed with a nod. "Fine, I need you to take your shirt off." "Hmm, well that was unexpected but that's ok I guess." Arthur said, "Well, of course, out of all the new crystal bearers, I would be the most interesting. I can't wait to put this in Fat-Jack's face." Arthur thought. "I need you to synergize with your crystal, I imagine it won't be too difficult, the calculations show that the level of synchrony between you and the crystal reaches almost 100%. Just to give you an idea, my maximum synergy score with the crystal reached 35%., while Glabro approached 15%." "Stanis got 75%, although he's a goofball he was the most suitable candidate." Seraph said. "I believe Arthur's levels are above 90%, but we're not the ones who should test this." "Do you have something against me?" Arthur asked Seraph suspiciouly. "It's just that you came out of nowhere." Marcus opened his mouth for the first time, "many are uncomfortable that the crystals were given to people who came out of nowhere, without any preparation or training." "And even with all the training, you've been passed over by some losers." Arthur raised his fist and grinned, "There's nothing to say, now we're the Six Warriors." "Good luck with that then. You're going to need it." Seraph smirked. Arthur forgot about that and concentrated on his crystal and instinctively approached it to his chest, he felt as if warm earth had entered his chest, as if it was fertile earth, he felt good... and then he saw that the crystal had entered the his chest, glowing green within an earth symbol mark. After a while, the light disappeared, the mark remained. "The weight of heroism will now be placed on your shoulders." Hana said to Arthur with empathy.
