It was the day after Sam and his friends clashed with the Odaiv g**g. It was Sunday, often a dull and dreary day, but Sam was looking for information that could lead to the scrolls. Somehow, Sam got information about a secret trapdoor, which led to a place with clues to the academy's treasures. Such a secret trapdoor was between the orchard and the vegetable garden and that was where Sam was, by day, that place was happy and butterflies and people wandered among the plants of that place, at night, Sam's only companions were crickets, cicadas and a few fireflies.
For a while, Sam searched, finding nothing, but by chance he stepped on something that reminded him of the sound of creaking wood, even under a layer of earth. The chosen one of the wind was then going to bend down and invest it, when he realized that he was no longer alone. From the midst of raised plants, a boy appeared. He was taller than Sam, had a thin face, brown eyes, and straight hair that fell across his forehead and brushed to the side, with streaks dyed gray and turquoise. He had a septum piercing, and wore colorful clothes, having ear plugs around his neck.
The boy looked at Sam as he ran his hands over the plants.
"You must be Samiel Ollibeu, right?"
"Who are you?" Sam asked suspiciously.
"My name is Dave Turrier, nice to meet you." Dave offered his hand for Sam to shake, but Sam was very suspicious. "No need to be so suspicious, Samiel, I'm here to make you an offer, after all, the information that reached your ears was initially whispered by me."
"What you mean?"
"We're looking for the same things, the treasures of this academy, well, I heard that and I wondered if we couldn't help each other, I started helping you, Samiel, how about we become allies?"
"I don't even know you and you come to me out of nowhere saying these weird things."
"It's understandable. But I also don't know what's under that mysterious trapdoor. Let's do it this way, to make a possible alliance, let's see together what's hidden in this place. Open the trapdoor, Samiel."
Suspicious, Sam opened the trapdoor, which opened onto a ladder in a dark place.
The boy approached the hole in the stairs and looked down, both hands in his hood pockets, as if he wasn't too worried about anything.
"Whatever we're looking for, it's in there."
Sam and Dave went down the stairs, in fact the place was very dark and without noticing Sam set traps there, crossbow bolts fired automatically from the walls through hidden holes, Sam barely had time to notice, but Dave seemed to be aware.
Magically, the arrows ricocheting off something in the air, Sam figured it had something to do with Dave, who had a cynical, carefree smile on his face.
"How did he do it?" Sam wanted to know in his mind.
"Let's continue, Samiel." Said Dave.
What Sam and Dave found was a music box that looked old, although it was well preserved, the music still played melodious and a little melancholy. Dave looked at it quizzically.
"Anyway, that must mean something. Let's go back. Back in the orchard," Dave spoke; "It's time to decide, Samiel, are we or are we not to be allies? If so, I'll let you keep this music box. If not, I'll have to take it for myself. Come on, we'll only have advantages by being allies, no I ask that we be friends, I ask jusk that we work together for a while."
"I don't know. It's very strange that you know what I'm looking for, so I'll have to refuse for now." Sam replied.
"Oh, so it's like that?" Dave looked at Sam, still with his hand in his pockets and with a look that seemed to be amused at the chosen one's expense, "yeah, it's true, I know a lot about you and your friends."
"What do you mean?" Sam asked puzzled.
"Isn't it true that you and your friends are the Six Warriors?"
That information hit Sam like a punch in the stomach. Who was that guy? How did he know that?
"D-don't know what you're talking about." Sam spoke, flustered.
"Your lack of calm condemns you. There are many who love the Six Warriors, many consider them heroes, but some people draw their strength from the figure of the Demon Emperor and my master is one of those people, as am I, Samiel. I still offered it to you. an alliance for mutual gain, but you turned it down for now, so you'll have to learn a little through the pain. So what? Can you prepare for a fight, Samiel? I don't enjoy hitting helpless weaklings." Dave's Student Bracelet seemed to glow brighter under his hood sleeve, Sam's gave off a slight vibration and received notification of a duel, which meant that Dave was challenging Sam to a Fair Fight, "Come on Sam, it's not going to chicken out, is it? If there's one thing I didn't expect from you, it's that you were a coward."
"Very well then," Sam replied firmly, "if that's what you want, let's fight then."
"Great," Dave smiled sarcastically.
"WIND BLAST!!" Sam began attacking with his magic, summoning his strong winds that made the trees in the place sway as they creaked, seeming to lament the possible outcome of that fight. Dave's face changed dramatically from a sly smile to a mask of fury.
"BARRIER OF SOUND!" He screamed, and a transparent wall of ripples in the air seemed to rise, protecting the boy, the ground broke in a straight line in front of him and Sam's winds dissipated. "How weak," he said, advancing swiftly against Sam, so fast the chosen one could barely see him, until he felt a mighty punch to his chest. Sam screamed in pain as he was thrown back. Dave didn't even let it fall: "SOUND BAZOOKA!!" He yelled with his fists pointed at Sam. Two powerful, loud impacts hit him, knocking him even farther away, while a terrible sound buzzed in his ears. Sam fell, defeated. He could no longer move, he was weak, the other had given him a nice beating. Dave's Student Bracelet emitted a congratulatory hologram, while Sam's notified him of his defeat. The orchard was slightly damaged and the bracelet informed them that they would also be responsible for the damage to school property. "I can't believe it" laughs Dave "are you done yet? It was easier than I thought it would be! It's pathetic!" Dave stepped on Sam's arm "you were pretty convinced for defeating those losers from the Odaiv's g**g, weren't you? At your level of fighting, you have to be content with defeating just them yourself, you understand? You weak!"
"What… what kind of magic… is this?" Sam asked, still on the floor and sore.
"It is derived from wind magic. Sound magic. I can create sonic impacts, confuse enemies, or destroy their eardrums with a heavy sound." Dave yawned "well I have to go over there and get some sleep, your fight has made me sleepy, but even so, our proposal is still up, right? Hopefully now you're convinced of the best thing to do." Saying this, Dave burst out laughing as he took the mysterious music box with him.
On the ground, Sam growled, furious with Dave, furious with himself.
