Almost a week later, his friends were talking about nothing but excitement about the tournament, they all had their own reasons for thinking it would just be great, but Fenrir couldn't stop thinking that this thing could be a total tragedy. Besides, the past week had been hell for Fenrir. Gigor, or Professor Synfull, as he liked to be called now, had made his classes hell. All sorts of hard questions were asked of Fenrir, with that Synfull seemed to want to expose the boy to ridicule or something, besides he couldn't give a “cheep” that was disproportionately called to attention, whereas the others students nearly messed up their class and Synfull didn't even care. Most of the bad occurrences in the class were attributed to him, like the day Odaiv threw a paper airplane at a girl in the class and then Gigor blamed Fenrir, saying it was the same sheet pattern in the chosen notebook.
"But all sheets are the same!" Fenrir had protested.
"Don't make excuses for me, you troublemaker!" Gigor had replied.
And even with Odaiv confessing, Gigor didn't budge. Plus, he always made a point of putting all the prettiest girls in the class in front of him, and worst of all, i***t Monique had actually managed to put him as Class Director, the teacher who was most in charge of the room, together with the student Class Representative.
What eased Fenrir's days were his team's training sessions, which had already begun. He felt he was getting more powerful, and Takehiko had volunteered to help them with magical techniques at times. It was good to train in the late afternoons, with the sun setting, in an orange sky that was turning golden and then turning pink as it darkened where purple and finally black took over. Sometimes Emma and Elza watched training, and Ethan said he was more inspired by the presence of girls.
"So what's up man? Apparently Elza spoke to you again?" asked Jack, asking Ethan.
"Apparently so" Ethan replied giving her a long look who nodded towards the boy, "who's understand how girls' minds work."
Fenrir tried to focus. He should get stronger to defeat his rivals. "Brandon, Garm, Gartham... Team Hovding, it doesn't matter, All of them!" he thought.
"Mister Silvster!" shouted Professor Synfull, bringing him back to reality and the present "Aren't you always? How troublesome!" He sighed, with an air of irony, "well, I think you should already know what I'm teaching, then, right? Well then, let's have a question."
"How annoying!" Fenrir thought, frowning. Gigor smirked.
"And so, as you may know, we were talking about magic items, which is my subject, in case you didn't know. Well, define for me, exactly, what is the main item for creating Bracelets of Strength?"
"Er… the bracelet?" The entire room laughed. Synfull didn't seem to like it.
"Funny, really funny, keep it up and you'll flunk the semester. Forget that question! Let's go to the next one; About Aesthetic Magic Items, which is our current subject, explain it to me; What materials are needed to create an Beautification Necklace?"
"If even you don't know, I'll know?" The room continued to laugh.
"Oh, what nonsense! Of course I know, it's my teaching subject!"
"Then I'd say you should do it urgently, as you're in need, huh? Assuming you've already done it, I'd say it doesn't quite work, given your current appearance." he smirked raising his left eyebrow. The entire class roared with laughter, so loud it could be heard outside the school. Gigar turned red with anger. He yelled something, but I couldn't hear it because of the laughter. The teacher screamed again, and he could hear a little more, but the third time, it was very audible:
"SILENCE NOW!" He yelled angrily. He looked at Fenrir full of hate. "Now to the boardroom! Now!" He yelled pointing to the living room door.
"It was the greatest favor you could have done me," chuckled Fenrir, eliciting more giggles from the room. When Headmistress Madeleine saw him there, she sighed.
"You here again, boy?"
"I told you. This Synfull guy really has a problem with me."
"You better stop blaming others, Fenrir, the problem is with you." She glared at him a little, "but... lately I've also been getting some comments from girls about the professor. Just suspicions, of course. They say he's sinister and perrverted."
"Fine, no one likes him. Fire him!"
"Don't think you can talk like that to the headmistress of the academy and mistress of this castle, Fenrir Silvster! Besides, you're wrong. There are students who like him."
"Is it? And who are these mental patients?"
"Well, we have Brandon Myrkem, from..."
"This guy? You're kidding, right? This guy doesn't count!"
"Brandon is a great student, Fenrir. Sorry to say, but he gives better evidence of being a good student than you."
"You can't give any evidences when you have a lot of people on your tail, including your dear granddaughter."
She sighed again.
"Amelia and I agree on the ideal type of punishment for you this day, Fenrir."
"Is this really serious?" Fenrir held up his hands in mockery, "oh sure, that's it, I'm the culprit, that's it, I'm the bad guy, uh!"
"Spare me your revolted teenage sarcasm, boy. Three days helping William, the stable man, this will be your detention."
"Tsk… alright then, whatever you want, but I know I'm right." Saying this, Fenrir got up and left. He couldn't train on that day as he had to help William with the animals, this included cleaning turds from blacetaurs (which stank much more than horses) a type of animal that looked like a monstrous bull, feeding very dangerous animals, brushing their fur, bathing some… at least Indira had been there with him all the time and that little animal was even funny. William was a totally bossy and irritating old man, and he made no move to help Fenrir, preferring to sit comfortably while he read a lewd magazine. The chosen one of darkness only finished the work for the night, indeed tired.
"I think you'll think twice about disrespecting the teachers, huh?" William spoke trying to give a moral lesson.
"Go back to read your stupid magazine." Fenrir growled back, walking away. In the square, Ethan and Elza were talking casually. Both clean and quiet. In fact, they all looked so clean that Fenrir felt even more filthy. He decided to get out of there, but before he did, he ran into most annoying girl in the academy again.
Yeah, Fenrir remembered what Ethan had said, about him apologizing and all that bullshit, but Fenrir's head was pretty pissed off and he didn't feel like apologizing right now.
"I heard you had to help William. Getting detention is really annoying, isn't it?" Monique laughed. Along with her, two more girls, plus about three boys that Fenrir didn't give a damn, "so, you like the smell of that place? I think so, right? Looks like you bathed in it" she laughed more, now accompanied by the others. Fenrir sighed and tried to turn away, to dodge the way of that girl.
"You better leave anyway" Monique said, for everyone in the square to hear "your horrible odor is fouling everything in here, you stink." Many in the square laughed. "I don't know what stinks more than blacetauro turd, you look like you took a bath in it."
"It's alright" Fenrir replied with his usual blasé expression "after I felt your bad breath, blacetaurus turd even felt like a flowery field."
The students who were there also laughed at Fenrir's phrase. Monique frowned. The chosen one tried to get out of there right away, he wasn't in the mood to be exchanging insults with the most annoying girl in school.
