It was almost afternoon when Miguel woke up in one of the wings of the infirmary, in bed to the left was Sam and to Sam's left was Arthur, Jack was to Miguel's right, Fenrir was in the opposite row, with Ethan at his side.
"So apparently that enemy found us" Miguel thought to himself, looking at his friends on the infirmary stretchers, "I should have warned them earlier, I made a mistake. I just... I didn't expect such a direct approach."
"Seriously you old lady, I'm fine, just let me out of here, I want my rematch, ok?" Arthur was making noise nearby, but the head nurse insisted that he should remain at rest for at least that day.
"Just lie down on that bed, you kid, or I'll make you regret it" threatened the head nurse, a woman with a face similar to a bulldog, she must have been around sixty years old, she was very stout, especially on the hip. Arthur wasn't intimidated by that ugly woman, and the nurse was about to inject the boy with some substance to go back to sleep, when Ethan intervened;
"Arthur, calm down, get back on that bed" said the boy firmly, "you lost the fight when you were in your perfect health, what do you think you will do against your enemy in the conditions you are in now?"
"No!" Arthur snarled in the negative, "I was tired of the match I was playing, if I have another chance to fight I will..."
"Another chance. Yeah, maybe you do, but not now, calm down and rest until you fully recover."
"Damn it!" Arthur growled, "Damn, I faced an ancestral spirit from a forest, how could I be defeated by a guy like that?"
"Those guys were pretty strong, Arthur," Sam said, "Dave Turrier, that magic of his...sound magic, how unusual."
"In the end, we didn't stand a chance" Miguel agreed, "they beat us, they beat us for real."
"It's no reason to get down," Ethan said, "we should use it as a motivation to get stronger."
"I will definitely get stronger!" Arthur said, punching his own hand, "I'll be the strongest!"
"Silence!" The head nurse ordered, "You are in an infirmary and not in the middle of Myrddin Square, just behave yourself, you brats!" She then went back to her duties, but left complaining "how a school allow young people who control magic to fight around? That would go bad, it would definitely go bad."
The young boys spent time in silence.
"He made me a proposal" Sam finally said, "they know what we want, us, me and Dave Turrier, we found one of the secret passages, but all there was was a little music box."
"That must mean something" Miguel said, "the Spellons scattered the treasures in different types of keys, keys that were hidden in common and unusual objects. These fights we had... surely their goal was to make us give up and then to join them. They were expecting a kind of stall syndrome, but I'm not really into allying with those guys, no matter what proposals they have."
"If they wanted to break us, they messed with the wrong guys," Jack growled and his friends looked at him, who was finally waking up, "it's like Ethan said... that defeat only served to inflame me further. Those guys. .. if they want to be our enemies, so be it! We'll be enemies they'll regret making!"
"Very well spoken Fat-Jack!" Arthur agreed, "I already have the allies I need, those guys can go to hell!"
"So everyone agrees that we won't make alliances with these mysterious guys, right?" Ethan asked, smiling as he saw his friends, they all nodded, "That's it so, next time, we'll be better prepared, alright? Let's not get caught as easily as yesterday." Everyone agreed, the nurse sternly asked for silence once more.
"Damn it," Fenrir finally spoke, looking at the entrance to the infirmary out of the corner of his eye.
"What is it, Fenrir?" Ethan asked.
"I can smell a scent coming from someone irritating who is approaching."
Miguel saw the door to the infirmary wing open, the head nurse bowed slightly and kept repeating;
"Welcome, Miss Monique, it is an honor to have you here, welcome."
Monique Spellon Drakonischen, direct descendant of the lineage that owns that school, that owns that castle, an ancient and highly respected noble lineage, an arrogant girl with a high nose. She seemed to smile with satisfaction to see her friends there, especially Fenrir.
"So... I know it's not the best time," she said, with a smile on her face, "I've heard about your... unfortunate defeats, it's really a shame." She seemed to smother a laugh, "but, I have to notify you, your fight with the so-called 'g**g of Odaiv' has not been ignored, we have heard of that fact."
"You're kidding, right?" Fenrir asked with a grimace, "It must be."
"No kid, I'm not kidding."
"The guys got our pet!" Arthur growled, "the guys took our friend Jack and beat him a lot!"
"It doesn't matter, if you guys really wanted to do something you should have reported it to the authorities of this school and not act impulsively as vigilantes or anything like that."
Fenrir began to swear, Monique feign took offense and pointed her finger at him.
"You Mr… what's your name again?"
It was obvious she knew, but she asked as if she wanted to tell Fenrir how unimportant he was.
"Fenrir," he replied unimportantly.
"Mr. Fenrir, it's better to improve this language and treat me with respect, I may not be the principal YET, but I am Vice President of the Student Council, I am Room Representative, and in the absence of my grandmother I can be considered the Interim Headmistress. So, little boy, be careful."
"Yeah, looks like you took what I told you before pretty seriously, huh?" Fenrir smirked, "What's up? Won't get off my back?"
"Have you ever begged my forgiveness?" Monique smiled arrogantly.
"Nah, and you know what? I'm not even going to do that."
"Then you had better be warned, for your arrogance not only you but your friends will also pay."
"You don't like us," Fenrir stated, "I know that. You just like things your way, and we don't follow that."
Monique laughed derisively again.
"The Coordinator Amelia and the Student Council will decide what punishment is most appropriate for you." Saying that, he was withdrawing when she came across Victoria and Stanis, who appeared there to visit them, "I suggest you get better company.” She said between giggling.
