Kindness and Hostility - (Fenrir)

1456 Words
Fenrir entered the room he should have been. There was nothing else there, except a few armchairs, a table, and what appeared to be entrances to other rooms. Inside was just one girl. She was sitting there, she was small and had straight black hair, pinned up, wore a sleeveless hooded outfit that left her arms exposed and on them were a series of marks like old inscriptions, runes. The girl was focused on her book and didn't even seem to notice that Fenrir had entered, the boy wondered if he should say hello to her or just let her read in peace. He decided to say hello, but he didn't even get an answer, the girl looked at him very quickly and went back to her book, not saying anything. Fenrir raised an eyebrow. "Okay then, you're reading, okay, got it." Fenrir said going to sit in a place halfway away from the girl. A few minutes passed in almost complete silence. Occasionally Fenrir looked at the girl to at least see if she had shifted her position while reading, but no, it was like a static statue or something. "Oh hello so you're here little boy!" Said that blonde girl from before emerging from one of the passages she had in that room, "you remember me, right?" "Alexia, it's not been two hours since you introduced yourself to us." "Here." Alexia said with a smile as she held out her hand with some chocolates and candys for Fenrir. "I noticed you looking at the candy at the convenience store earlier, if I was going to bet I'd say you were really looking for some treats." Fenrir took the candys Alexia offered and the girl smiled, "You should have seen the face you made now, a wide smile and your eyes sparkled. That's what they say, if you want to win over a kid, offer them candys." "Hey, don't be treating me like a kid." Fenrir complained. "Oh sorry, you're right, I shouldn't, after all you are the bearer of the Dark Crystal, you shouldn't like to be treated like that, right?" "Yeah, I don't really like it, but thanks for the chocolates." "Well it's a pity you don't like it, I mean, you know I have some really cool stuff with me like…like these toys and games." Alexia pulled out a few objects from her bag, cool action figures from anime characters and some games for handheld consoles, she then cast a suggestive look at the boy, trying to watch his reactions "but a warrior as dark as you...well, that might not be the kind of thing you're interested in right now." It could be said that Fenrir was very interested indeed. "W-wait... this is not just simple toys, this is action figures is different!" "Do you want them?" She gave a smile. "Th-that doesn't make me a little boy." "Of course it doesn't." Alexia smiled. Fenrir immediately took the toys, nearby he could see the eyes of that silent girl who was reading, she seemed to roll her eyes and then went back to reading. "After all you are a little boy." Alexia affectionately ruffled Fenrir's hair. "Wait, why are you being so nice to me?" Fenrir gave her a suspicious look. "You're going to risk yourself a lot on the mission, and the other one I usually give to my colleagues... they say it's bribing, but I don't see it that way" Alexia gave a quick smile, "when I met the girl there, I offered several books to her, even today her smiles are rare, but that day she showed me many. There's one more thing... you remind me of a person, someone I haven't seen in a long time." "Don't be fooled by this cute face, Alexia, after all it was this boy who almost killed one of my squadmates." Fenrir returned to his usual bored expression and glanced at whoever had said that. It was a girl, he had seen her before... "Oh hello, how are you, Evagore?" Asked Alexia. "As far as possible" Evagore looked at Fenrir, "but there was one of the new chosen ones that we Third Class were trying to avoid. Even with our healers who are experts in the magic of the Song of Healing, Aita is still at risk of her life and all because of the brutality and savagery of this kid." "What is this girl talking about?" Fenrir thought, "that maniac wanted to bury me alive and use my corpse as a puppet, if anyone deserved to be dead... that someone was that guy." "Any problem?" It was the only thing Fenrir asked, not changing his bored expression. "Boy, it's just that... some Guardians still don't accept that mere boys came out of nowhere have taken the place of those who've been training for ages." Alexia said trying to sound kind and mediate the hostility that apparently arose there. "So the great guardians who've been training for so long are pissed off because they're jealous for they thought they had the right to have the crystals? How mature, isn't it?" Fenrir suggested. "Boy, unlike your friends you don't seem to have honor or respect, we third class are keeping an eye on you so you better be careful with your words or..." "Alright, that's enough, let's just continue our duty and do what we came here to do." Alexia looked at the girl who was reading and the girl nodded. She stood up and Alexia spoke her name, "Hm well Fenrir this is Othala, we don't know her real name we call her that because she has the othala runemark on the back of her neck. I hope you weren't offended when she didn't answer you, she doesn't actually speak, but she manages to summon the spirit of an imp who bridges communication between her and us. And that's Evagore Sobek, you've probably seen her before. Othala, are you ready?" The girl named Othala nodded. Some of the runes that were vertical on the girl's arm started to glow a dark magenta color, specifically the two runes she had at the beginning of her forearm, so shortly after that a purple smoke was rising from the girl's shoulder until it took the shape of a imp. He had mischievous look in big, completely black eyes, short fur in that dark magenta color, little bumps protruding from the top of his head like little horns, big pointed ears, pointed tail, tiny bat wings and still had a smoky appearance of magic of the girl. He was even cute in a weird way.  "Hello, hello, I'm Bard, I imagine my mistress needs to communicate something, huh? Very well, ma'am, what do you want me to say?" Said the little smoky imp. Fenrir guessed that the girl communicated with him somehow telepathically because he didn't even see her lips move, the next moment the devil began to speak, "Very well, little boy of the candys and toys, my mistress said not to question, my evocation requires her energy, do you understand? Ready? I hope so. Do you have the right crystal? All right, take off your shirt" Fenrir cast a dubious look at her and the imp, "No questioning boy, do it, do it!" Fenrir did as asked, feeling a little uncomfortable, "Feel the dark energy of your crystal, transmute it with whatever feeling you use to transmute it, usually the dark magic reproduces itself in feelings considered negative, but this is not a rule. Do this, feel the your darkness and bring the crystal to your chest." Fenrir tried to focus on the magical energy of his crystal he began to feel more powerful, however, also less kind or empathetic, it was as if the dark mist that were his new powers made him stronger, but clouded his notions of caring about the others. He brought the crystal to his chest and it felt good, he felt something cold in his chest, like a cold night wind that brought him nostalgic sensations of times he didn't even live, as if he had been other people than himself, he felt good, but also confused and a little profane. A stain on his chest, a dark shadow mixed with a dark violet or purple luminosity, in the round shape that was the crystal, in addition a mark had appeared, that symbol that had previously been inside the crystal and was now tattooed on his chest. The shadow and light flickered away, but the mark remained. After this euphoria of strange sensations, Alexia touched his shoulder and gave him a smile. "There's no turning back now, boy... or rather, chosen of the dark."
