Chapter 10:lock her up

“Lock her up” Adam shouted at the top of his voice immediately. He entered the room Mia was sitting with his mother, his eyes wide with terror.

Almost immediately, two hefty guards grabbed Mia.

“Leave me, get your filthy hands off me,” Mia struggled as the two guards forced her out.

“I demand an explanation,” Scarlet, Adam's mother, yelled at him.

“She dared me, I can't deal with Mia anymore!” He yelled, feeling frustrated. “She did it to give me a grandchild,” Scarlet yelled back

Adam was about to walk out of the room. When she spoke, he immediately paused and faced his mother.

“You knew?” He asked. “You gave her the wolf's bind?” He asked again. This time, his voice was so loud and angry, but Scarlet only remained silent.

“Ohh wow,” he said and clapped, “you just got her locked up until I returned from Oxtown.” He said, his voice echoed with command.

“You won't dare, I need a grandchild, Adam, and you won't give me unless i force it out! ” Scarlet finally yelled back, fuming with anger.

“Watch me,” he said, drilling his gaze into her eyes, “you won't,” Scarlet said after moving closer to his face before storming out to her husband's room.

Adam was in his room packing for Oxtown when Leland walked in. He sat on the couch and was staring at Adam.

“You don't have to,” Leland said

“Stay out of it,” Adam replied with command.

“She's your wife, man. She wanted her right. She shouldn't be treated this way,” Leland said, ignoring Adam's voice.

Adam was about to reply when Joe, his father, badged in.

“Adam!” Joe yelled “Tell me it's a lie, you locked your wife up?” He asked, yelling.

“My wife or not, I won't tolerate what she did, she's going to stay there till I decide what to do with her,” Adam replied before carrying his luggage and walked out of the room.

“I command you to release her at this very moment!” Joe commanded following Adam

Adam gave no response. Instead, he walked into his car “Drive” he commanded his driver, ignoring his father and Leland, who was watching him and fuming in anger.

On his way to the airport, he picked up his phone and called Raina.

“Hey beauty,” he said with a smile plastered on his face. All his anger suddenly felt dissolved.

“Hi,” Raina replied, rubbing her tummy and smiling, a habit she has cultivated anytime to talk to Adam.

She stood up from her bed and moved to the sitting room, gesturing to Emily, who was cleaning the house. Emily gave a genuine smile back. She was very happy for her sister.

“On my way to the airport,”he said

“Can't wait to finally meet you without being drunk," she replied and chuckled.

He laughed hard as he briefly recollected the night they met.

Raina suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach, which made her winch in pain.

Hearing the sound of pain Raina made, Adam quickly jumped out of his chair out of fear.

“Are you okay?” Adam asked. The concern was very obvious from his voice. “Rain!” He called out again, worried.

“She will call you back,” Emily's voice sounded through the voice “is it the baby?,” she asked Raina before cutting the call.

“Baby? What baby?” Adam said in a rush before the phone beeped.

“Baby?” He repeated to himself, confused

His mind was racing through different thoughts “is she married?, or she's pregnant,or she has a child, baby? How?” He thought.

He made his way through the airport to the family private plane.

Emily rushed to Raina's side. She immediately she heard her winch in pain.

“She will call you back,” she said quickly as she snatched the phone from Raina, “is it the baby,” she asked Raina before pressing the red button on the phone.

Raina could not speak. She kept on pointing to her stomach instead. Litter tears were already formed at the corner of her eyes.

Emily quickly picked up her car key, helped Raina to the car, and speeded off to the hospital

“Nurse!!” Emily screamed as she entered the hospital “Emergency!” She screamed again.

“Move her to the ward,” one of the senior doctors ordered.

Emily stood outside, pacing from one corner to another with a fast heartbeat praying.

“Miss Emily, come to the doctor's office, please,” one of the nurses said after almost 30 minutes.

“Okay, thank you.” Emily said in a hurry as she rushed to the doctor's office.

“Good morning ma'am” the doctor greeted me with a wide smile.

“Good morning sir, please how is my sister? I hope she's fine. Please tell me she's fine,” Emily said in a hurry. Her fast heartbeat could be heard as she wiped off the sweat forming on her forehead.

“Calm down miss, your sister is doing great. It is just that the baby is developing faster than normal, which it is affecting her body,”

“Is that possible?”Emily asked, confused.

“Sincerely,” the doctor said and paused, taking off his glasses, “I have never seen anything like this,” he continued “So she will have to stay so we can monitor her.”

Adam had just arrived at Oxtown, breathing in the fresh air. As he stepped

out of the car. “Now this feels like home,” he said to himself as he climbed down the stairs.

“Welcome alpha,” a dark hefty pack member with curly hair greeted Adam bowing.

“Is Aiden here?” Adam asked, his gaze fixed on his phone as he kept trying to call Raina, but she wouldn't pick up the call.

“No boss, he left for freelake city a few days ago. He had something important to present to you in person” the man replied, still bowing.

“Call him to get to Oxtown at once,” Adam said in command as he walked off

He tried Raina's number again and again, but no response until he decided to drop a voicemail.

“Hi Rain, I hope you are okay, I just got to Oxtown, and I have been trying to call, but you won't pick up. Please call me back once you get this message.” He said as he walked into the car prepared for him.
