Lianmin stares at her watch as she walks into the famous traditional restaurant on the ground floor of Luaze Hotel, the best hotel in the heart of Beijing.
‘ Damn! I'm late ' Lianmin thinks
Everyone keeps staring at Lianmin as if it was an angel and not a human who had just walked into the restaurant but she didn't mind instead she takes to scanning the room for her handsome date.
“ There he is ” Lianmin mutters to herself when she sees Li Xinjiang sitting by the window.
Lianmin ignores their peering eyes and walks towards her date sitting by the window side where they chose to reserve.
‘ What a gentleman, he already reserved the table ’ Lianmin thinks to herself.
“ I must have kept you waiting”
Lianmin says as she approaches the man sitting by the window. She takes a seat right in front of him.
At first, Zhou Leicheng thinks it is the lady waiter who is stealing glances at him and decides to ignore her but when she sits down, he looks up but surprisingly his boring eyes are meets with Lianmin's bright eyes.
Zhou Leicheng could not help but acknowledge the beauty of the woman who stood before him, her silky light brown hair rested beautifully on her back, her big brown eyes were beautiful, her collarbone was so straight he could see the alignment of her bones, her pale skin complimented the white dress she wore and her lavender perfume filled his nostrils. She is an epitome of beauty nevertheless Leicheng saw her as a bother.
“ And you are ? ” Leicheng asks coldly
‘ Punk alert ’ Lianmin thinks.
“ Ain't you Li Xinjiang? ”
Lianmin asks surprised by his response.
“ Now you know shouldn't you get up? ” Leicheng asks arrogantly.
Lianmin chuckles feeling embarrassed.
“ Sorry! You're not the one I'm here to meet...” Lianmin apologizes to Leicheng despite his rudeness to her.
“ If you're sorry then...” Leicheng signals her to leave.
“ Oh...” Lianmin stands up and mutters one last apology for her mistake.
Lianmin walks a few meters away from him and tries to text her blind date, she sees an unread message and taps on it.
‘ Sorry Lianmin something came up I can't make it ’
After reading the text message Xinjiang sent her, Lianmin wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole, not only did she just embarrass herself now but Xinjiang won't be coming, what prove did she have to show that she was not trying to seduce the man who's table she had just been at, feeling ashamed Lianmin walks out of the restaurant.
As she walks along the road which led to Long Jingning's house Lianmin couldn't help but recall the face of the handsome but arrogant man she had just met, how boring his eyes were in contrast to his radiant skin, how much control she exerted over herself to resist touching his spikey silky soft jet black hair, his jawline was perfectly chiseled, it felt to Lianmin like he was an incarnate of god, only an arrogant version.
Lianmin halts on her tracks and lets out a scream.
“ L..Long J..Jingning!!! ”

“ So... How was your date? ” Jingning asks when she sees Lianmin standing at the door.
“ Long Jingning!! ” Lianmin shouts once she enters Jingning's house.
She launches at Jingning and pushes her on her couch.
“ You set me up with that jerk who cancelled on me at the last minute ” Lianmin fumes but Jingning lets out a muffled laughter.
Lianmin sat on the longest couch Jingning had. It was her favorite spot in the well-spaced living room.
Jingning is from a wealthy family in Beijing so her house was well decorated with nice sunset painting and portraits of herself hanged on the exquisite white walls.
At the corner of the large living room was the staircase which led upstairs.
“ Awwn... Lianmin's mad at me...” Jingning mumbles in between laughter but Lianmin's not finding anything funny.
“ I'm seriously heartbroken and you're laughing ”
Lianmin says annoyed.
“ Perfect way to celebrate getting a new job ” Lianmin sulks.
“ Let me make it up to you " Jingning says with a smile plastered on her face.
Lianmin's face brightens up on hearing Jingning's words.
“ What ?” Lianmin asks curiously
“ Tomorrow's night to properly celebrate your new job I'll take you to the Mia gala as my plus one ”
Jingning says knowing that Lianmin was a fan of evening gatherings especially one like the Mia gala.
Lianmin smiles on hearing Long Jingning's words.
“ You're not joking right? No takebacks? ” Lianmin asks with an unserious expression on her face.
“ No takebacks ” Jingning assures Lianmin.
Lianmin squeals and hugs Jingning tightly.
“ Hearing this right now has totally healed my foul mood ” Lianmin squeals.
“ How bout some wine to celebrate the moment ? ” Jingning suggests
“ Fruit juice...I'll save my tolerance for tomorrow's night ” Lianmin smirks.
Jingning nods and walks towards the mini bar.
“ Jiang Lianmin...” Jingning calls Lianmin with a serious tone.
“ ... ”
Lianmin turns to look at Jingning who is pouring fruit juice into wine goblets.
“ When will you move in to live with me? ”
Jingning asks and gives a goblets to Lianmin.
“ Do you so badly want me to? ” Lianmin jokes and Jingning kisses her teeth.
“ Tomorrow ” Lianmin smiles.
“ That reminds me I almost forgot to tell you about what happened to me today...”
Lianmin drops her goblet on the table in their midst and starts narrating her encounter with to the arrogant man at the restaurant.
“ Then what...?” Jingning asks in between laughter, tears were almost dropping from her eyes.
“ Then I tried to call Xinjiang but I saw his message... God I felt disappearing that moment ” Lianmin says also laughing.
“ Was he handsome ? ” Jingning asks out of the blue
Lianmin recalled the way he stared at her, how her eyes never left him.
“ Yes...” Lianmin says subconsciously.
“ But he was also arrogant ” Lianmin says almost immediately when she realises what she had just said.
“ Cover up... ” Jingning smirks.
Lianmin wonders if she would ever meet that man again.
‘ We probably won't see each other again '
Lianmin and Jingning's phones chimes from a notification pop up and they check it.
