Chapter Six
Sydney shut her door and leaned against it, eyes closed. She took a deep breath and pushed away. She started to open the ensuite door then thought better of it. She tapped lightly instead. “You can come out now.”
Corrin opened the door, his sword in one hand. He took the armband Sydney held out to him without a word.
“Don’t leave your stuff lying around my room.”
With a nod Corrin returned to the laptop. Sydney watched as he sat down, put the headphones on and continued to watch the documentary. Annoyance made her want to snap at him, demand he not ignore her. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out. Was she crazy? She wanted him to have as little to do with her as possible. She wanted him out of her life. He was just one more obstacle standing between her and Shawn. A
