Thus began the subtle cat and mouse game of tailing his suspect without the man realizing he was being followed. At first, it was easy to keep his distance behind the red truck. The traffic in town hid him from view as long as he kept one to two cars behind. But once they left the main streets, and the truck started up the road toward Sherwood Estates, it got trickier.
At one point, Rich cut the lights and drove using Huntsman’s distant headlamps to illuminate his way. That, and the bright, full moon helped. He gradually pulled back, thinking that the man was heading for the mansion, and parked at a curve in the road to wait for the truck to make its way past the front gates.
