“How ya doin’, buddy?” He was having trouble breathing, but he already knew the cop was driving as fast as he dared to get him to Saint Joseph’s. “Hurts like hell,” he managed to gasp. The officer glanced at him through his rearview mirror. “Five minutes. Tops. Hang on.” Rich stared out the side window as the city sped by.
