Love on the Boardwalk

CHAPTER 10

Months turned into a year, and Emily's life had changed in ways she never could have imagined. She had moved to New York to be with Alex, and they had found a small apartment in Brooklyn. She had a new job, new friends, a whole new life.

But through it all, there was one constant – her love for Alex. They had been through so much together, and she knew that their love was strong enough to withstand anything.

As they walked along the boardwalk one day, Emily turned to Alex and smiled. "Remember when we first met here?" she said, gesturing to the beach.

It was a warm summer evening, and Emily and Alex were walking along the boardwalk, hand in hand. They had come to Ocean View to celebrate their one-year anniversary, and Emily was feeling nostalgic.

"Do you remember the first time we came here?" she asked Alex, looking out at the ocean.

"I remember it like it was yesterday," Alex said, squeezing her hand. "It feels like we've been through so much since then."

Emily smiled, feeling grateful for everything they had been through. It hadn't always been easy, but their love had only grown stronger.

As they walked, Emily noticed that Alex seemed nervous. He kept glancing down at his pocket, and she wondered what he was hiding.

"Is everything okay?" she asked him.

Alex took a deep breath. "Actually, there's something I've been meaning to ask you," he said, getting down on one knee.

Emily's heart leapt into her throat as she saw what he was holding – a small, velvet box.

"Emily, I love you more than anything in this world," he said, opening the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. "Will you marry me?"

Tears filled Emily's eyes as she looked down at him. She had never been so happy in her life.

"Yes, Alex, I will," she said, falling into his arms.

The rest of their vacation was a blur of happiness and excitement. Emily couldn't stop staring at her engagement ring, feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.

When they returned to New York, they began planning their wedding. Emily had always dreamed of a beach wedding, and Alex was more than happy to oblige. They decided to hold the ceremony on the same beach where they had first met, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
