Episode 19: The Romanov’s

-Claire’s POV-

It’s almost midnight. Anna and I met a while ago as she cast an invisibility spell on both of us. This will help us roam around without anyone noticing as we enter Withry Valley. She also taught me how to open and close the portal from Withry to Blue Moon Pack just in case something happened. We need to make sure that we have a Plan B in place.

The portal will be going directly to Romanov’s Castle. Little did I know, Anna already visited Mikhail Romanov.

My mom asked her to meet with Mikhail the same day she vanished after my initiation. Well, at least I am not starting from scratch…I initially planned to meet with Mikhail before knowing that Anna was a witch but looks like she already did the first step in meeting our alliance.

Mikhail promised loyalty to the Great Wizards which are my ancestors. They’ve been living for centuries because of their Vampire Bloodline. They do not participate in the attacks and doesn’t want to be associated with Luke and Olivia’s family at all cost. His reasons? I don’t know, but that’s good, right?

I noticed Anna approached me as she walks past the hallway, we are both wearing a black hooded cloak. The invisibility cloaks will make sure we don’t get noticed by other witches and sorcerers in Withry. She gave me a small cloth bag that has sand-like particles inside it and told me to use it to shield myself from attacks.

“Anna, are you ready?” I asked

“I’m ready my Alpha” Anna nodded

“Blake, I will leave the pack to you and Jace. I know you both will keep them all safe while I’m away. I’ll see you soon my love” I mind-linked Blake; He went to meet the Lucid warriors who will be going to the Blue Mountains. I intentionally did that to keep him occupied while we make our way to Withry.

Both Anna and I started to whisper, as I open my eyes, I saw orbs surrounding us. Like a flip of a switch, a small black hole opens…as it becomes larger the hole becomes brighter and clearer. We both nodded at each other before we walk past the opening of the portal, as if in slow motion, I felt the sensation of sliding into a new world, like traveling through a tunnel into a new space that I’ve never been before.

The next thing we knew is that we are already in a stone castle, we are surrounded by books that line shelves from floor to ceiling. A huge chandelier kept the place lit and warm. As I look back to check the portal, it slowly disappeared from our very eyes.

I heard someone from the far-left side of the room speak and that’s the time I went back to my senses that we are no longer in Blue Moon Pack but at the Romanov’s Castle in Withry Valley.

-Mikhail Romanov’s POV-

“Hello Anna, it’s nice to see you again.”

“Hello Mikhail, thank you for having us here. This is Claire, Julia’s daughter”

“Welcome to Withry Claire, it’s a pleasure to meet Julia’s daughter” I held Claire’s hand and motioned for them to have a seat.

“Having both of you here is kind of different, compared to having the Witches and sorcerers who visit me. Probably because I know I can trust you. There’s a lot of things we need to discuss, Anna already went here and gave me some background Claire. You have my full support and we pledge our loyalty to you and to the Great Wizards of Withry Valley to bring back the good old Withry in place.”

I took a glass of Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon and drink before I continue…

“A lot of things have changed here, when you go outside my castle, I am sure that there will be lots of sorcerers who support the twins. There have been rogues as well roaming around, how the hell they ended up here in Withry, that I don’t know. They shouldn’t be able to pass the Blue Mountains but looks like they figured out a way to have them cross over.”

“Mikhail, If I may ask, you said ‘They’ earlier when you referred to the twins. Who’s the other one aside from Luke?” Claire asked seriously.

“About that... Olivia is actually back from the dead” I looked at Claire and Anna and saw their reaction. Both shocked and dismayed by what I just said.

“Olivia went here before to talk to my son Vlad months ago. I heard them talk about a revenge plot and raising her from the dead. Our vampire bloodline when we get to bite you and make you our own, you will be able to live for centuries and you can be raised from the dead. But that is if you are still in full form. However, you ripped Olivia into pieces and that is where Luke comes into the picture. Luke made her whole by some spells and black magic sorcery. They took someone’s heart to complete the ritual. After that, my son Vlad went to Olivia to make her like us. So, she is now a mix of Vampire and Witch. Vlad adores Olivia so when Olivia promised Vlad that she will marry her after making her a vampire, my son immediately said yes to the plan. Little did I know that Witch has something planned. She killed Vlad before their wedding, There was a poisonous drink she gave Vlad and while my son was having a hard time breathing, she takes his head off and stakes his chest with a sacred bullet that killed Vlad on the spot.” I sighed as I remember that day when I learned that my son died without even get to fight for his life.

“I am your ally not just because I want to revenge my son’s death from that b***h, but I want to end their reign here in Withry. It’s total chaos having those twins lead us, they assumed the power and thinks highly of themselves. This just needs to end soon…and you Claire will make that happen”

-Claire’s POV-

“I’m so sorry Mikhail, I didn’t know that Olivia is still alive and did some crazy s**t in here as well. I should’ve burned her after ripping her off!” My hatred for this witch keeps growing and growing. I felt the pain from Mikhail losing a loved one. I did lose my mate and my mother because of Olivia, and it hurts…because of her selfishness we can no longer be with the ones we love the most.

I saw Mikhail sighed as he walks slowly into the bookshelf on his far left. He pushed a small book and it opened the shelve which showed a tunnel leading us to a secret room. He motioned for us to follow, which we did.

Anna snapped her fingers and floating fireballs light up our path going to the secret room as we walk past by the dark tunnel.

We arrived at the end of the tunnel with a huge brick door standing our way, I saw Mikhail unlock the door with a gold key and motioned us once again to follow him inside.

As we enter the secret brick room, I was stunned by all that is in there. It’s a state-of-the-art armory that is like a military storage compound where machine guns, rifles, pistols, ammunition parts, and accessories are lined up and kept. There’s also a huge collection of daggers and swords that looks to be ancient.

“All the things you see here are weapons that we prepared that can help defeat the twins. The bullets are specifically made to kill witches. Anna cast a spell on each of these to ensure that it will pass through any shields and spells once we aim at the opponent. The daggers and swords are the same, it is crafted with a poison that we retracted from Vlad. I want to make sure that Olivia gets to taste the same poison she gave my son. The poison is mixed with a special spell that can affect the brain for it not to function. We all know that Olivia is technically dead and her heart is not hers, the only thing we can ensure her defeat is if we can stop her brain from functioning to perform dark magic. If her brain doesn’t function, she can’t do any spells.” Mikhail said while touching the blade of a golden sword in the middle of the room.

“Claire, this sword is your mom’s. I was able to save this the night they left Withry Valley. I am handing it back to you my dear Claire. Now, I know that you need to get your ancestor's book from the twins. We have it all planned out, however, it’s only you and Anna who can go inside the palace. My warriors will be assisting you from outside to get their attention. We will buy you enough time to go there and find what you need.” Mikhail handed me the sword, it’s sharp and heavy.

I nodded upon hearing the plan. I mind-linked Blake to let him know that we are about to move in anytime now. Also told him that Olivia is f****n alive, so they are aware just in case something unexpected happens...
