Blood Doesn't Mean Safe

Episode 9 The night didn’t feel the same anymore. Nothing did. Dielle stood outside the café. Phone in her hand. Staring at one name she hadn’t called in a long time. Home. She exhaled slowly— Then pressed call. Cut To – The Penthouse Lights. Glass walls. Luxury that felt cold instead of comforting. Raven paced back and forth. Angry. Restless. Broken in ways she refused to admit. Another figure sat quietly on the couch. Her older sister. Calm. Watching everything. The phone rang. Raven glanced at it. Her expression hardened. “It’s her.” The older sister didn’t react immediately. “Answer it.” Raven hesitated— Then picked up. “What do you want?” she snapped. Back to Dielle Straight to anger. As expected. “I need to see you,” Dielle said. “No.” Immediate. Sharp. “You’ve done enough.” Dielle closed her eyes briefly. “Raven—” “Don’t say my name like we’re okay!” Silence. Heavy. “You took him,” Raven continued. “You locked him up like he’s some criminal—” “He is.” That made Raven laugh. Cold. “And what are you?” That question? Too accurate. Dielle didn’t answer. “Exactly,” Raven muttered. Then— The older sister stood. Walked over. And took the phone. “Come home,” she said calmly. Dielle froze slightly. That voice— Always controlled. Always dangerous in a different way. “…you sure that’s a good idea?” Dielle asked. A pause. “No,” her sister replied. “But it’s necessary.” Call ended. Cut To – Later The penthouse doors opened. Dielle stepped in. And immediately felt it— This wasn’t home anymore. Raven stood across the room. Arms crossed. Eyes burning. “You’ve got some nerve coming here.” Dielle didn’t respond. Not yet. Because her attention shifted. To her older sister. Still calm. Still unreadable. “You finally decided to stop pretending,” she said. Dielle’s eyes narrowed slightly. “You already knew.” A small smile. “I know more than you think.” Tension spiked instantly. The Sisters Clash Raven stepped forward. “Start talking,” she demanded. “What is going on?!” Dielle looked between them. This was it. No more hiding. “He’s not who you think he is,” she said. “I KNOW that!” Raven snapped. “You think I’m stupid?!” “No,” Dielle said. “But you’re emotional.” That hit. Hard. “Wow,” Raven laughed bitterly. “Say that again.” “Raven—” “You don’t get to talk down to me after what you did!” “He used you,” Dielle said firmly. Silence. Raven’s expression cracked— Just slightly. “No,” she said quietly. Dielle stepped closer. “Yes.” A beat. “And the worst part?” she continued, “He let you believe he was something safe.” Raven’s hands clenched. “Stop talking.” But Dielle didn’t. “Because that’s what he does.” “STOP.” Too late. The older sister finally stepped in. “That’s enough.” Both of them went quiet. Her gaze landed on Dielle. “You’re not telling them everything.” Dielle’s stomach tightened. “Tell her,” she said calmly. Silence. Raven frowned. “Tell me what?” The room felt smaller. Dielle exhaled slowly. “I’m not just part of this case,” she said. Raven scoffed. “No kidding.” Dielle’s eyes didn’t leave hers. “I’m part of the system.” Silence. “What does that mean?” Raven asked. Dielle didn’t soften it. Didn’t hide it. “I’ve been watching people like him for a long time.” A pause. “And working against them.” Raven blinked. “Wait… what?” But before she could process— The older sister dropped the real truth. “She’s not just watching,” she said. Both of them turned. “She’s one of them.” Chaos Raven stepped back. “No.” Her voice shook now. “No, that’s not true.” Dielle didn’t deny it. Didn’t confirm it either. That silence? Worse than anything. “You’re lying,” Raven whispered. “I’m not,” the older sister replied calmly. Raven looked at Dielle. Desperate now. “Say something.” And Dielle? Finally spoke. “I didn’t choose it the way you think,” she said quietly. That wasn’t a denial. That was worse. To Be Continued......
