Chapter 5

Disgusted Penelope's Pov It felt like ages since I bathed and cleaned myself. I smiled when I saw myself in the mirror. Now, at last, I look fresh. I am wearing a plain t-shirt and shorts that seem to belong to a man. I have no choice but to wear it since I couldn't find anything to wear. This and those other men's shirts are the only things I saw on the cabinet. I slowly opened the door and peeked outside. No one was there in the hallway. I looked at the red carpet before in the plain room I have. I don't know what that bastard is thinking to suddenly let me go and be free like this. But he'll surely regret this. I smiled and opened the door widely. A man with a radio suddenly appeared. He looked a bit shocked. He was about to walk towards me when someone radioed him. He stopped and watched me walk past him. It happened three times. I wandered my eyes from the huge chandeliers up to the odd design of the ceiling. Is this a mansion or a palace? My heart thumped when I heard waves of water. I stepped toward the big window. A servant saw me, but she didn't bother to stop me or whatnot. My mouth parted when I saw a big, crystal-blue ocean in the distance. "What is this place?" I remember that he said we were on an island. But I didn't expect that we were in paradise! "It's mesmerizing, right?" I turned and saw one of Pierre's friends. He boyishly smiled at me before he stepped in beside me. If I can still remember, he is the laughing stock guy. "This is a private property of Pierre. You will like it here more when you roam the island." I winched and faced him. The happiness that I felt faded in an instant. "Why don't you just convince that assh*t to bring me back, huh? My fans are probably worried about me now!" He chuckled and scratched his cheek a bit. "That…would be hard, Miss Actress." he said, and gestured his hand. "Why don't we go to the dining hall? The breakfast is already served. I bet you're probably hungry now?" I bit my lips when my stomach growled. My face heated up when he looked down on me and chuckled a bit. "Let's go?" he asked. I sighed and just nodded. I'll just lashed out at Pierre later. For now, I need to eat something before I faint. "Ah, before I forgot…" he extended his hand to me. "I'm Ivan." I was taught good manners, so even though I didn't want to accept his hand, I still did. "I guess you already know my name because I'm famous?" I asked and flipped my long hair. "But I will still say it. I'm Penelope Gomez." He pressed his lips together before he nodded. "Noted…Miss Actress." He walked in front of me while I was behind him. He would glance at me now and then to make sure that I was following him. I rolled my eyes after the nth time. He chuckled. He was right. The breakfast was served, but the people around the table made me lose my appetite. Especially the man that held my gaze as soon as I entered. I rolled my eyes at him. He just raised his eyebrow and followed me. "Good morning, everyone!" Ivan exclaimed with so much energy. However, the rest weren't in the mood. "Sit here, Miss Actress." Ivan offered a seat for me, but before I could sit there, Pierre spoke. "Sit here, Eris." he said, and he glanced at the vacant seat beside him. I winched at him. How dare this man call me by my real name repeatedly?! "Sit here, Eris." he repeated. My eyes flew to the b*tch sitting in front of that chair. She raised her eyebrow to me. No way. I smiled sarcastically at him. "I'm good here." I replied and sat down. His lips twitched. Ivan chuckled, as did the man in front of me. He extended his hand as soon as he saw me looking at him. "Hi? I'm Stephen." I licked my lips and accepted his hand. Come to think of it, as I stared at their faces longer, I felt like I had seen them from somewhere before. They're all kind of familiar. "Why don't we just eat now? Stop the freaking formalities." Diana uttered. Our eyes locked, we both rolled our eyes to each other. Stephen coughed and glanced at Pierre's side. We all started eating. They're all silent while I'm minding my own business. But I could feel their stares at me. I confirmed it when I raised my eyes. I wiped my mouth before I looked at Pierre. Now that I'm full, it's time to talk with them. Especially on him. "Why did you kidnap me?" He stopped and met my eyes. I glared at him before I wandered my eyes to the others. Ivan coughed when I looked at him last. "These people, did they plan this all with you?" I crossed my arms. "For what?" Diana dropped her utensils. "We're in front of the food. Why don't you just shut up first and eat? I stood up and slammed my hands on the table. "Do you all have an idea who I am, huh? Once my father knows that you all damn kidnapped me…" I pointed Pierre. "Especially you! You are all dead! My father won't let this pass!" I don't want to use my father's name under any circumstances. All the more that I already leave his side, but these people should know who they are messing with! I'm not just a well-known actress! I'm Eris--- "Eris Balthazar, sit down." Pierre said. I looked at the others reactions, but they seemed not to be shocked or anything. Does it mean they already know? Did this bastard tell them?! "You tell them my real name?!" He sighed and stood up. "Let's go to my office." he said, and walked out of the table. He looked back with an annoyed face when I didn't move. "Eris." he said in a dark voice. I pursed my lips. Embarrassed, I didn't look back at the table. But I heard Ivan and Stephen chuckle. "What is the meaning of this, Pierre?! Why did you tell them my real name?! I pushed back when he abruptly turned to me. I held my nose and glared at him. "Did you kidnap me because you're scheming something to do to my father, to our company, huh?!" His forehead creased before he took a step toward me. He towered in front of me. "I have no rage toward your father, Eris. And I don't need your father's company. I have my own." he smugly said and entered a room. I breathed deeply before I followed him. "Then what's your reason, huh? Don't ever tell me that it's for revenge or what! We both know that we really don't want that wedding to happen!" He clicked his neck and stood beside a wide table. He wore a coat while coldly staring at me. Behind him was an image of the beach. "Really?" he sarcastically asked. "Why don't you just tell me that you have a lover and you chose him instead of me." What is this man saying? Wait…did he believe that excuse too? I jerked my head downward to stifle my laughter. Well, it's really my fault. He leaned on the table with folded arms. "Tell me, were you really that disgusted with me to just run and be with any other man?" I snorted. "C'mon, why are we talking about this?" My brows furrowed. "Don't tell me you were serious about marrying me?" He suddenly walked towards me with a dark expression on his face. My stomach churned with his image. "I was ready to marry you! Even at the age of twenty one, I was ready to settle down and become your husband!" My eyes widened, and my lips parted. "W-What the hell?" I voice out in a small voice. He clenched his jaw before he turned his back on me. Even though it was all for our business. I was still willing to marry you." He continued. I didn't notice that I wasn't breathing anymore while listening to him. Is he serious? He really was ready to marry me? That nerd of his in the past really wants to marry a princess? I laughed. "You damn nerd. Fine. I left because I knew we weren't compatible." I honestly replied. Well, it was just a part of my reason. I won't tell him my main reason. His jaw clenched. I walked towards him and leaned on him. "Yeah, maybe I just really disgusted. You know that you weren't like this before. You are thin, weak and nerd. More than that…" I scanned him. "I was bullying you. So it would be damn humiliating if I married you." I rolled my eyes. "So don't lie to my face. I know that you didn't really want to marry at me—" "Get out!" I jumped at his sudden rage. "W-What the—" I blurted out in shock when he threw all the things above his table. He turned his back on me, and I could hear his heavy breathing. "W-What's wrong with you?" I licked my lips nervously. "Don't tell me you're affected—" "Get out!" he shouted angrily. Scared, I immediately stormed out of the room.
