Aaron chuckled, then lay down on the floor, stretching so that his feet were close to the fire. He put his hand on Lewis’s knee. “You’re my best friend,” he said in a whisper. Lewis swallowed the lump in his throat. “I know. You’re my best friend, too.” Lewis smirked, then added, “Even though you’re a giant prat.” “Oi!” Aaron laughed and whacked Lewis’s arm. “You’re lucky I’ve just gotten out of hospital or I’d take you down.” “Shut up,” Lewis said, laughing as he lay on his side next to Aaron, resting his head on his own bicep so that they could look at each other. Aaron smiled and so did he. “Thank you, Lewis,” Aaron said eventually.
