Chapter Fourteen - Way Hotter Than Me

1478 Words
“You’re awake?! You’re awake! Are you okay? Do you need anything? Are you hungry? What happened while you were asleep? Lucas and I have been studying this whole time. Oh my god, Lucas! LUCAS!” Jack stumbles over his words and runs out of the room to get his brother. Ally chuckles to herself and swings her legs over the side of the bed. Her body is weak and sore from staying in the same spot for so long. She takes her time standing up, and stretches. She walks over to her closet and grabs a sweater, and brushes her fingers through her hair. She grabs a granola bar out of her drawer, and sits on the bed waiting for Jack and Lucas to come greet her.               Both boys rush back into the room, and shockingly to everyone including Lucas, he almost knocks Ally over with a hug. “Holy s**t. Holy s**t! You’re okay! You’re okay right? Do you need anything? What happened?” Ally smiles broadly, and takes a deep breath.                “I was up with Mimi, and I spent time with my- uh… my mom. We did lots of training, and I learned about different medicines and potions. She gave me a couple of spells to teach you guys too. God how I missed you guys. I’m sorry it took me so long. It’s hard for me to admit, but I was scared.” She tucks her hair behind her ears and places her hands in her lap. Although she looks terrible, Jack is looking at her like she is the most beautiful girl in the world. “What about you guys? Cas has only really told me that you guys were worrying about me the whole time. Did you guys get any cases? I know it’s only been a week or so but please tell me you weren’t stuck in here the whole time?”           Jack and Lucas share a puzzled look. Jack walks over to her bed, and sits down next to her. “Ally, you’ve been out for two months. Aside from going to get food and whatnot, we haven’t done much but try and figure out how to wake you up.” Ally’s mouth drops open, and she’s speechless. She thought she was only out for a week, not two whole months.           “What? No, no that’s impossible. I would’ve known I- what? Two MONTHS?” Ally feels her heart rate escalate and she stands up. “You guys, I’m so… I’m so sorry. I had no idea it was that long. It only felt like a week had gone by… Cas never told me how long it was. I’m so sorry.” She covers her face with her hands, and shakes her head.                “I think that’s the most I’ve ever heard you apologize like, ever.” Lucas said. “But it’s not that big of a deal, okay? What matters is that you’re back, and we can start working together to understand what happened, and get ready to get back out there.” Lucas walks over to Ally, and puts his arm around her. We’re glad to have you back, kid. It was pretty dull here without you.” Ally looks up at Lucas, and jabs her finger into his collar bone, bringing him to his knees.                “I told you to stop calling me a kid, asshole.” She smirks at Lucas, and chuckles. “That’s from my Mimi.”                “There she is. I knew it was a mater of time.” Lucas laughs. “Why don’t you get showered and get dressed. Jack did his best to wash you off with a cloth, but I guarantee you’ll want an actual shower. I’ll meet you guys in the library when you’re done.” Lucas walks out of the room, and closes the door behind him.               “You gave me a hand bath?” Ally crosses her arms in front of her and tilts her head to the side. “Exactly how much did you wash?”               Jack puts his arms out in defence. “No, its not like that. Just your arms and legs and face… and your stomach every once in a while. But nothing else. I wouldn’t do that I pro-“               She laughs. “Jack, I’m kidding. I know you’re not like that. Relax! Now come give me a proper hug.” She opens her arms and walks over to Jack, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I missed you Jack. There’s so much I wanted to share with you. I’m sorry I was gone so long.” She lifts her head up and looks into his eyes. “I missed you so much.”               Jack smiles and brushes his hand against her cheek. “I missed you too. I hope you know I’m probably never going to let you sleep alone again. I don’t care if you want me on the floor, I’m not letting it happen.” He smirks.                “Okay, okay! I get it. No more sleeping alone. And please, like I’m gonna let you sleep on my floor.” She stands on her toes and gives him a kiss. “We could always get a second bed put in or something. Or you can sleep on the bed with me…? If that’s okay? And also you’re way hotter than me and I’m always cold.” Jack c***s his head and chuckles.  “Okay, that came off wrong.” She blushes and tries to pull away from his embrace.               “I know what you meant.” He laughs. He pulls her in for another hug and runs his hands through her hair. “I wouldn’t mind sleeping next to you. The only thing I might mind is your cold feet.” They both laugh, and look at each other with smiles across their faces. “I missed you more than you know. How was your time with Mimi?  What did you do with Athena? I want to know it all.”               Ally smiles, and pulls away and grabs his hand. “I’ll explain over breakfast, I am STARVING. Pancakes please?” She says with her eyes wide and a full-teeth smile.               “Anything for you Allycat. Go take a shower and I’ll get it all started.” He leans down to kiss her, and when their lips touch, sparks fly. They’ve kissed before, and not long ago right when Ally woke up. But this felt different for them. It’s like they went years without the others touch, and would ache if they had to wait any longer. A simple kiss turned into a heated exchange between them, each taking turns exploring the others mouth. Hands moving, and holding onto each other afraid to let go. When they finally pull apart, they are both left panting with rosy cheeks and wide smiles.                “Well that was nice” Ally said. “I wasn’t really expecting that.” She tucked her hair behind her ears and looked up at Jack who looked at her with such a strong gaze, Ally felt her knees become weak. “What are you looking at?” She asks.               “I’ve just been waiting a long time to feel like this with you. I wish the world wasn’t so crazy right now.” Jack runs his hand through his hair and takes a deep breath. “Not to mention you’ve just woken up after being asleep for two months. Add the fact that you’re a Demigod to that, and I guess I’m just shocked that this is really happening…” he trains off and blushes.                “I’m still me Jack. Still the same bad-mouthed, ass-kicking hunter that you went to university with. I’m still the girl you have a ‘little crush’ on.” She uses air quotes, making fun of what Lucas had said a few months ago. She giggles at how different things were back then. “I still can’t believe so much has happened in the last year.” They both stay silent for a moment, just hugging each other.  “Now come on, I want my pancakes.”
