“What can I say? You’re stunning. Especially with your dress off.” Ally could hear Lucas’ voice get a bit louder, and she hears the door lock. She takes a few steps back, heart throbbing, and drops the case of beer, with every bottle breaking, causing a loud smash.
She bolts for the car, having Luke’s keys in her pocket from grabbing her wallet before she left to get beer, and tries to get the door unlocked. She hears Lucas call out her name, and she looks at him, as he pulls his shirt over his head.
“ALLY! WAIT!” He starts running down the stairs from his room. She gets in the car, starts it up and speeds away, leaving two black streaks behind her. Lucas raises his hands to his head, and pulls on his hair. “Damn it. JACK!” As he yells for his brother, he runs back to his room, and tells the woman to leave. He packs his bag, and bangs on Jack’s door.
“Luke? What’s going on? Where’s Ally?! He glances over deans shoulder. “And who is THAT?” Pointing towards the woman behind Lucas.
He hangs his head, and says “Ally and I kissed a few nights ago. The night before my episode. We decided not to have it go anywhere after that because the life we live. There’s no time for anything more than friendship. She must’ve heard me and Tracy in my room and split. She dropped the beer in front of my door and she took off with the car. Pack your s**t. We gotta go after her, and get to the bunker.” He says as he turns around, heading down to the parking lot.
Jack rushes to get his things, and heads down to the red sports car that Luke had hot-wired, gets in, and Luke hit the gas pedal to the floor.
A few hours later, they pass a gas station, and see the impala. Jack points it out, and Luke keeps driving. “Hey, go back what are you doing?” Jack says.
“She won’t take off without her journal and her dads watch. We have to get there before she does.” Lucas gripped the wheel tighter. “It’s a good thing this guy filled the tank before we left. Should get us ahead enough that we’ll have time to fill up.”
“Why did you do it Luke? Why would you kiss her, and then turn around and go do something that stupid? It doesn’t matter that you two decided to stop it. She lives with us man. Even if she decides to stay, she will never let you live it down.” He’s frustrated. Ally is his best friend, and Lucas is his brother. But Ally is hurt, and his brother made a huge mistake. “She’s my best friend. If I were her, I would be doing the same thing right now.”
“I don’t want to hear it Jack. I can’t think right now. I just need to get there and at least try to explain.” His eyebrows furrow and he turns the radio on.

Ally finishes pumping the gas, and goes inside to pay. She feels a chill go up her spine, and as she turns around, a tall man with dark blue eyes and pale skin smiles at her, and bares his teeth. Slowly, he starts to release his fangs.
“Hey there. Remember me?” He grins. Ally soon realizes that it’s Christian, the vampire who killed her family, and found her years later and bit her in New York. “I knew I’d bump into you soon. Your blood has a very... unique smell.”
She reaches for her blade, but Christian moves too fast, and grabs her arm, and drags her out of the store. He throws her onto the ground, and begins to talk. “You should have never fought back. You could of lived forever. But now? Now I’ll drain you out, slowly, and right before you die, I’ll bite you once more, and you’ll wake up as a newborn.” He turns, and begins to pace. “You’ll be sired to me, and won’t be able to resist. You-“ his words are cut off, as Ally has just stabbed him in the shoulder, and tries to run back to the car. She didn’t have her wooden stake on hand, so it didn’t do much damage. He takes a breath, and he charges at her. Before she can get away, he picks her up and throws her in to the wall of the store.
Gasping for air, she tries to stand up, but her knees buckle beneath her. She collapses, but holds her balance on her knees. “You will suffer.” She spits at him, and sees red. She brings her hand up to her lip, and she can feel the blood sticking to her hands, like thick red paint. Christian walks over, and cackles.
“You’re making this too easy, at least try to fight back. I’m just getting bored at this point and that’s not fair.” He kicks her hard in the chest, and she can feel her body cave in on itself. She feels her body is ready to give up, but she pushes herself back up and plants her feet firmly on the ground. She pulls in all her anger, and focuses it right at his face. She charges, jumps, and screams as she gives him a hard blow to the face. Christian falls to his knees and tries to get back up. Ally was ready to strike again, but noticed her hands were glowing a soft yellow. While she was distracted Christian has gotten her on her back after punching her in the chest.
Gasping for air and trying to stand up, she starts screaming for Caspian. “CAS! CASPIAN! I NEED YOUR HELP!” She takes her knife and scratches through her angel-ward rune. She calls out again. “CASPIAN! WHERE ARE YOU?!”
Christian slowly makes his way over to her, and laughs. “No ones going to help you. It’s just you and me babe.” She tries to stand up, and she spits her blood at him.
“Don’t call me that. I do not belong to you.” She swings her blade towards his head, and he leans back, grabs her wrist, and turns the blade towards her thigh. It isn’t a long blade, but it still cuts deep into her muscle and she screams out in pain. She looks up and him, face bruised, swollen and bloody, and with a firm voice, she says “I will make you suffer. You killed my family, and tortured me. Fed on me. Abused me. I will do everything I can, and make you die a very slow, painful death.” She breathes quicker and harder in between words. She can feel her eyes become heavy, and her head starts to spin.
Right before Ally falls over, she sees Caspian, along with Jack and Lucas , as they all get ready to strike. “NO. He’s mine.” She coughs up a mouthful of blood. “Don’t kill him. I need him.” And to figure out why her hands were glowing. With her last words she collapses, and everything goes black.
