“I’ll take a Long Island Iced Tea, and a shot of tequila for everyone.” Alex rolls his eyes and everyone agrees. Alex places an order for a rum and coke, and Anthony orders two whiskey sours for him and Peter, and the shots for all of us. We each hold the liquor and lemon in our hands and cheer. “To all of us, and to finding the rest of our family.” We clink our little glasses and all make sour faces as we suck on the lemons. We take our drinks and head into the crowded dance floor. Remixed nineties songs are being played along with some new age hits, and everyone is dancing to their own beat. We’re standing right in the middle of the crowd enjoying our drinks and the fact that we have some kind of night off.
In the front of the stage, skinny girls in skimpy outfits are shaking their asses for any guy that will give them attention. Anthony drools like a dog at one of the blondes, and waltzes over to the group. The remaining three of us laugh as the girls friends push him back and he sulks over to us in defeat. “Man, Jacksonville chicks are a lot meaner than the girls back in Indiana.” Anthony whines.
“I think it’s just people from Florida in general. No offence to you, Peter.” I joke.
“None taken. Aside from you guys I rarely talked to anyone in my ten years of living in Miami. Just the people I had to.”
“Maybe if you wiped the drool off of your face before you said hello, you might have had a different experience.” I laugh at Alex’s comment and I wrap an arm around Anthony’s shoulder.
“You’ll be okay buddy, keep your chin up and have another drink.” I wink and he pushes me away. “You guys suck.” We all laugh and this time Anthony joins us. Throughout the night we exchange crazy life stories, hopes and dreams if we weren’t about to charge up to Olympus, and just about every childhood detail we could think of. I’m quick to realize that Anthony and Peter, and the other Demigods are really the only family I have left. I want nothing but to protect them, and always have them in my life.
After a while of talking, Alex and I find our own place on the dance floor. We’re both a little tipsy and we’re swaying and grinding up against each other without a care in the world. Suddenly, I have the bladder of a toddler and give Alex a quick kiss and let him know I’m running to the bathroom. I finish the rest of my drink and set the glass on a random table as I make my way through the bar. I get into the bathroom and after releasing the tiny bit of fluid from my bladder, I stand over the sink and wash my hands. I check my makeup and blotch my sweaty forehead and head back out.
The club looks like it’s way past its capacity, and I have to push a few people out of my way to try and find my mate. After a few minutes with no success and standing in the middle of the dance floor, I clear a table and climb on top of it. I have people cheering me on and staring at me as I look for Alex.
‘Alex, where are you?’ no reply. ‘Has anyone seen Alex?’ I link Peter and Anthony in hopes that they’ve seen him.
‘I’ve been at the bar the whole time and haven’t seen him. Anthony is off with a girl in the back corner. You should get off that table before you get kicked out of here.’ I roll my eyes at Peter’s words and literally jump off the table. I fix my dress and push my hair back, and I fight my way to the bar yet again to meet Peter.
“How can I not find him? I even tried to link him and he didn’t respond.” I feel heat radiate throughout my body as I feel his arousal. “Somethings wrong.” I clench my fists and scan trough the crowd again.
“Ally, your hands are glowing. You need to focus.” I feel Peter’s hand on my shoulder and remember to breathe. “I’ll help you find him. You go left, I’ll go right. We circle back by the bathrooms on the other side. Okay?” I nod and take off to the left side of the bar. There’s two pool tables, and a door to a patio. I pass by the front door and check to see if he’s outside. I ask the bouncer if he’s seen the man I was with earlier, and he shakes his head. I let out a dramatically heavy sigh and continue towards the pool tables. I order a drink from the side bar and casually walk between the people crowding the tables. No sign of Alex.
I try to link him again, and receive the same silence from the first time. ‘Anything yet?’ I link Peter.
‘No, but I’ve found Anthony and he’s helping now too. He last saw Alex walk into the bathroom.’
‘Perfect. I’m here now. Wait outside the door.’ I put up a block to my guys and charge into the men’s bathroom. There’s two men using the urinals, one washing his hands and one standing against the wall on his phone.
“Uhh, hey miss, this is the men’s room… are you lost?” The man who was leaning against the wall walks over to me and sets a hand on my arm. I snatch it away and glare at him.
“Everyone out. Now.” I swing open the door and wait for the four men to clear. I hear a toilet flush and wait for another person to walk out. “I said, EVERYONE out. NOW!” I walk over to the first stall and kick the door in. Someone crashes into the toilet seat and raises his hands in defence. “Out.” I step to the side and he bolts it out of the bathroom. I slam open the second and third doors, both empty. The handicapped stall at the end is locked. I knock, no response. I take a look under the door and see two pairs of feet. I kick open the door and stand in shock at what sits before me. *************WARNING***************
“Uh, occupied?” A girl with pale skin and blonde hair wearing a very short pink dress is sitting on the lap of my mate. His pants are around his knees and her underwear is on the floor. I look at Alex’s confused and shocked face, and tears of anger spill out from my eyes. I grab the girl by the arm and drag her off of him. “What the f**k?! Let GO! Can’t you see I’m busy?” I pick her up and slam her into the wall.
“Can’t you see, I’m pissed?” I see my rage infused face in the reflection of the mirror beside her and she pushes me back. “Get out. Now.” I point to the door and she crosses her arms over her chest. She c***s her head to the side and a smirk crawls across her face.
“I said, I’m busy. Now move, bitch.” She pushes past me and tries to walk back into the stall. I grab her wrist and turn her around to face me. *****************END*******************
“Your business, honey, is my boyfriend. Now, get the f**k out of here before you cause a scene.” She rips her arm away and crosses her arms again. Goddess help me, is this girl stupid? “Alright, I warned you.” I grab her by the hair and literally drag her out of the bathroom. I stop in front of Anthony and Peter and their mouths drop open at my catch. “Alex is in there. Get him dressed and don’t let him leave your sight. I’ll deal with him after.” They both nod and I throw the girl into the middle of the dance floor. She holds the back of her head as she stands up. It looks like a few of her friends are trying to get her to leave, men included. “I gave you two warnings sweetheart, this is all because of you.” I open my arms wide and draw attention to what’s about to happen.
“f**k you, b***h!” She spits at my feet as she kicks her heels off. The music is still going, and some people are oblivious to what’s going on as they continue to dance. I may be tipsy, but this skinny little b***h has nothing on me. “You wanna fight? Let’s fuckin fight!” She charges at me and tries to push me but I step to the side as she runs right into Peter. I glare at him and he pushes her back towards me. She catches her balance and she starts to swing. I entertain her and let her get a few hits in. She goes to kick me and I catch her foot with my left hand. I bring my right fist down on her face and see blood spew out of her mouth. She drops to the ground and some big muscular guy runs up and tries to hold me back. “Hey! Stop! That’s my girlfriend!” He holds my shoulders back and I stare him in the eyes.
“Oh yeah? Well your girlfriend was just trying to f**k my boyfriend in the bathroom. I gave her two chances to f**k off, and she didn’t listen. I’m giving you one, and only one, so move.”
“What…?” He turns to the girl who is finally getting back on her feet. “Sarah, is this true?” She glares at me and doesn’t say a word to him. He turns back to me and shrugs his shoulders. “Well, not my problem anymore. Have fun.” He pats my shoulder and walks away as Sarah tries to run after him. I grab her by the hair again and pull her back.
“Nah, I’m not done yet.” I whisper into her ear and she screams. I spin her around in front of me and land a blow to her nose. “Stay in your f*****g lane!” I kneel in front of her and knock her out with a hit to the temple. I stand up and sigh as I see that my dress has split up past my hips, and look around as everyone is staring at me. I feel a hand on my shoulder and spin around to see Alex. “DON’T, touch me.” I point at him and start to walk away.
“Ally wait!” He grabs my shoulder and turns me around to look at him. “I can explain!” I stare at him and let my tears fall. I swing my head back and head butted him right on the bridge of his nose. He falls to the ground and holds his bloody face.
“I said, don’t touch me.” I see Peter and Anthony run up to us and start asking what happened. “He can tell you. I’m out of here.” I toss my hair back and turn around. Two bouncers start coming towards me and I put my hands up and walk to the door. “Don’t worry, I’m leaving.” I get out onto the street, and Anthony runs up beside me.
“Hey, Peter is taking Alex back to the hotel, and you and I are going for a walk.” I know I look annoyed because Anthony rolls his eyes and hooks his arms in mine. “Just walk. We need to talk.” I groan and follow beside him down the main strip. We pass by several bars, large crowds of people, and busy taxis. “It wasn’t his fault, y’know. Someone slipped something in his drink.” I let out a heavy sigh, and look up to Anthony.
“Are you sure?” I hold my arms in front of my stomach and look up at Anthony.
“Yeah. I’m pretty sure. He’s never given me a reason to not believe him. He was crying pretty hard and pushed Peter and I out of the way so he could talk to you.” He gives me a sad smile and I turn around and punch the brick wall next to me, and to my shock, crushed brick falls from my knuckles as I pull my fist back. I let out a grunt and start to head back to the hotel. “Where are you going?” He catches up to me and keeps up with my fast pace.
“I’m going to bed. I’m tired.”
