Maya paced back and forth in the living room, her fingers gripping her phone tightly. Alejandro watched her from the couch, his concern growing with every passing minute. “Maya, you’ve been like this for days. What’s going on?” Alejandro asked, his voice tinged with frustration and worry. Maya stopped and turned to face him. “It’s these messages, Alejandro. They’re becoming more frequent and cryptic.
