Interesting.
I thought, scrolling through the files on the computer monitor.
I spread my legs, leaning against the back of the chair.
The smartphone inches away from me lit up again.
Rebecca had found her phone and was answering my dinner invitation. Eventually she would accept. She was just trying to make herself wanted and provoke me a bit. She was thirsty for knowledge and would not deny me a meeting.
I read her answer and smiled, pleased: it was a yes.
